It’s only been a handful of days since the 2023 Major League Baseball season officially came to a close, but people are already looking forward to next spring to get here. The Texas Rangers captured the first title in their storied history and now people are ready to see if they’ll repeat as champs, or if a new team will capture the glory next year. With that said, the Braves are the early World Series favorites for the 2024 season.
Throughout this past season, Atlanta was the major favorite to win the Fall Classic, but they dropped the ball in the NLDS against the Phillies. It was a great series, but Philly proved to be the better team. However, the Phillies then went on to lose to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS. No one expected Arizona to reach the World Series, but they did after an incredible run. Now, though, Atlanta will look to make a statement next year.

It will be on their young talent to get the job done. Plenty of eyes will be on Austin Riley, Matt Olson and Ronald Acuna Jr. They didn’t deliver for the NL East side in the playoffs, but they’ll have a great chance to put this team in a position to come out on top at this time next year. The Braves could look to get even stronger this offseason, as some big names could be headed to town via free agency. Only time will tell if the front office is aggressive or not.

Other teams in the mix include the Rodgers, Rangers, Astros, Phillies and Orioles. There’s also going to be plenty of attention on the Yankees and Red Sox to try and post bounce-back years too. The Phillies are our pick to win the World Series next season
Believe it or not, the Phillies are our pick to win the World Series next season. Things didn’t go quite as planned for them this year, as they were hoping to make history this month. Instead, though, the Phillies somehow lost to the Diamondbacks in the NLCS and they saw their dreams of coming out on top end. It was a tough pill to swallow for the fanbase, but no one can argue this team is loaded with a tremendous amount of talent.
It all starts with the one and only Bryce Harper. He is easily not only one of the best players in the bigs, but perhaps of his generation too. People say he’s the LeBron James of Major League Baseball and it’s hard to argue with that. Harper is known for his amazing power at the plate. Whenever he has the bat in his hands, he’s a threat to leave the yard with an impressive dinger. We saw that throughout the postseason.

“He wants to achieve all of his goals in Philadelphia,” Harper’s agent Scott Boras said in a recent interview on a potential extension with the Phillies. “He obviously wants to play into his early 40s. He has all those goals, he wants to really do everything he can to put up Hall of Fame numbers. I think he’s committed to the game, committed to his city. All those conversations will be coming forward at an appropriate time.”
Per the oddsmakers, the Phillies hold +1000 World Series betting odds to win it next fall. Obviously, it’s not going to be easy for Harper and Co. to get back to the Fall Classic, but they have the tools in place to make a ton of noise next campaign. Similar to the Braves, you can expect the Phillies to be busy during free agency in the coming months. If they can add some key pieces, the sky will be the limit for their potential.

One of the biggest questions for fans entering the new year is can the Yankees get back to the postseason and push for a title? In shocking fashion, New York missed out on the playoffs this season, which no one expected. The Yankees had strong odds to win the AL East, but they couldn’t even grab a Wild Card spot. Because of this plenty of people in the Bronx have been calling for Brian Cashman to be fired.
For now, it looks like manager Aaron Boone will be back next season, but there’s going to be a ton of pressure on him to try and help this team get back to the high level of play fans are used to. Aaron Judge dealt with a lot of injury issues last season, but he will have high expectations moving forward. Cashman needs to improve the roster in order for the Yankees to make the playoffs, so let’s see what he ends up getting done.
