The sensational season for the Atlanta Braves continues. The NL East powerhouse entered the new year with high expectations and they’ve flown past them. Now, the Braves are hoping to go on a deep postseason run and potentially bring home yet another World Series title. However, the regular season isn’t over just yet and the Braves are favored to take down Washington in Sunday’s series finale. Who will come out on top?
As of this writing, the Braves have been blazing hot and they hold a 97-54 record. Few teams have had much success in stopping Atlanta, as they sealed the NL East title a few weeks back. With their fantastic pitching and great lineup, the Braves are seen as a serious threat to win the Fall Classic. Only time will tell if they’ll be able to answer the call, but fans are quite confident in what this team can do.

They’ll have a chance to send a strong statement this weekend vs. Washington. The Nationals have been a major disappointment this year, which has been a bit of a surprise. Nats fans were hoping that Washington’s young talent would be able to rise to the task and play well in 2023, but the opposite has been the case. Now, Washington will hope to stun the Braves on Sunday, but that will be easier said than done.
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Braves hold -115 MLB betting odds to post a win. Washington is the home team, but they’ve been set at +125. While miracles happen in baseball and the Nats could post a shocker, the Braves are simply too good for a team and they’ll be able to cruise to a victory in this one. The under should hit in the Braves vs. Nationals matchup
With the way Washington has been playing, there’s no question in our minds the under should hit in the Braves vs. Nationals matchup. Washington’s hitting has been rough to see this year and things are going to be rough on them come Sunday with Spencer Strider getting the start for the Braves. Strider has been one of the best hurlers in the National League this season, which has been great to see.
Thus far this campaign, the hard-throwing righty is 18-5 on the year with a 3.73 ERA. Not only that, but Strider has 270 strikeouts to his name too. Whenever he’s on the bump, the young starter has been downright electric and few clubs have had success in getting to him. On Sunday, Strider will look to showcase his stuff and keep the Washington bits quite silent. That shouldn’t be too hard for him.

Atlanta’s lineup on the other hand has been superb. The group is of course led by slugger Ronald Acuña Jr., who is the favorite to take home NL MVP honors this year. It’s going to come down to either him or Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts, who is also in the middle of an unreal season. Betts has been fantastic, but we have a feeling that it will be Acuña who wins the NL MVP.
On Sunday, the Braves hitters will look sharp, but don’t expect the same to be said for the Nationals. According to the oddsmakers, the over/under has been set at seven runs. With Strider on the bump, we’re confident that he’ll dominate against the Nationals. Don’t be taken back if Strider only gives up 1-2 runs while he’s out on the hill. With that said, we’re going with the under as our pick.
The Braves remain the favorites to win the World Series
With the postseason right around the corner, the Braves remain the favorites to win the World Series. Atlanta holds the No. 1 World Series betting odds, while the Dodgers are right behind them at No. 2. From our chair, the winner of the NLCS should go on to win it all. People are ready and hopeful that LA and Atlanta will meet in that NLCS, which would make for a fantastic series.
Only time will tell if that ends up happening or not, but Atlanta is riding high these days. The offense made history, with four different hitters reaching at least 35 home runs this year. That’s simply unheard of and a stat that has Atlanta supporters ready to see what this team can do next month.
The Braves have all the tools to be the champions this year. Anything less than a trip to the World Series would be stunning for this squad. On offense, the Braves have an unreal lineup. As for the starting rotation, it’s easily one of the best in the bigs. Anything can happen in the playoffs and some upsets could be on the way. However, we’re rocking with the Braves as our pick to win the World Series this fall. They’re just too good and they’ll be tough to match.
