It’s hard to believe, but we are two weeks away from the start of the Major League Baseball season getting here. It was a memorable 2023 campaign, with the Texas Rangers taking home the title. Now, though, countless teams are hoping to prevent the AL West side from getting that job done. As we inch closer to play getting here, there will be plenty of eyes on a powerhouse from California. That’s because the Dodgers are the favorites to win the 2024 World Series.
This should come as a surprise to absolutely no one. The Dodgers are stacked with their offensive firepower, while they have a fantastic starting rotation. This team was only able to improve during the offseason too thanks to the addition of Shohei Ohtani. Countless teams were hoping to land his signature, but Ohtani ended up signing with the Dodgers on a 10-year deal worth $700 million. No one was going to top that.

While Ohtani is still recovering from an elbow injury, that won’t prevent him from putting on a show at the plate for the Dodgers this season. We’re going to have to wait a little bit for him to take the bump, but fans are still excited to see what he’ll be able to get done this campaign. Add in Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and others and you can see why the hype is so strong for the NL West club.

People were stunned that they didn’t win it all last season, but now Ohtani, Betts and Co. are motivated to silence their haters this spring, summer and fall. While the Dodgers have such strong odds, we don’t think they’re going to be able to come out on top.

The Yankees are our pick to win the World Series
Believe it or not, the Yankees are our pick to win the World Series. A year after missing the playoffs, which no one was expecting, the pressure is on both manager Aaron Boone and front office leader Brian Cashman. It has been far too long since the Yankees won the World Series and fans all over the Bronx and New York City are sick and tired of seeing other teams have so much success.
Luckily for people in the area, the addition of Juan Soto is still being celebrated. The Yankees pulled off the blockbuster trade to land Soto from the San Diego Padres and he’s going to make a massive impact on the middle of the lineup. To have Soto, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton at your disposal is something that most coaches would dream of. This is exactly what Boone has to work with.

The main worry for the Yankees moving forward is the fact that injuries have haunted them in recent seasons. Already, they have to worry about the health of star pitcher Gerrit Cole. Cole is dealing with an elbow injury and he could miss the first two months of the season. He was expected to be the Opening Day starter, but we now know that’s off the table. The hope is he can get back on the bump as soon as possible.
In the past, Stanton and Judge have dealt with injuries too, which has been a nightmare for Boone. In order for the Yankees to go on a deep postseason run, the AL East team will need their star players to stay healthy and live up to their potential. We have a feeling they’ll do just that. While we think New York will end up being the champs, the Braves are expected to make a ton of noise in 2024 too. Atlanta was so much fun to watch last season, especially because of the epic play from Ronald AcuΓ±a Jr. The star slugger was dangerous at the dish, but also on the bases stealing them.
Thanks to his incredible efforts, the youngster was named the 2024 National League Most Valuable Player. It was a well-deserved honor for him.Β Now AcuΓ±a and the rest of the Braves are hoping to wipe away the rough memories from the 2023 season. They had dreams of winning the World Series, but they fell well short.
The hope for the NL East club is they can bounce back in a major way this season. The Braves hold the second-best World Series betting odds behind the Dodgers. From our chair, it wouldn’t surprise us one bit if they ended up winning the NL pennant. However, we’re predicting a Yankees-Dodgers World Series title, with the Yankees taking the Dodgers down. It will be interesting to see how this season goes down, but it will be fun for sure.
