Kansas City Chiefs
With 14 weeks of the 2023 NFL season completed, the Kansas City Chiefs are in first place in the AFC West, but the team is in third place in the conference. Kansas City opened the season strong, going 7-1, but the team has not been the dominant force we have come to expect over the past few years. Over the past six weeks they have gone 2-4, losing to Denver, Philadelphia, Green Bay, and Buffalo.
Somewhat surprisingly, the Chiefs offense is the concern this season. As we head deeper into the 2023 NFL season, the Chiefs’ defense is ranked higher than the team’s offense, which hasn’t happened since 2015. That’s a huge concern for KC as the NFL playoffs approach.
Baltimore Ravens
One of the knocks against Baltimore Ravens‘ quarterback Lamar Jackson is that he can’t take the team deep in the playoffs, having only gotten the team past the first round once in his career. Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins are playing well behind a high-powered offense in 2023. The AFC East-leading team’s record stands at 9-4 following a surprising 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday night in Week 14. Injuries on both sides of the ball have made the Dolphins’ future prospects questionable as the season heads toward its final weeks.
The other concern surrounding Miami is how the team performs against tough opposition. Miami has beaten most of the teams they were supposed to defeat, but losses to Buffalo, Philadelphia, and Kansas City don’t bode well for a long playoff run for the Dolphins in this year’s postseason.
