The NY Giants didn’t have much to be happy about for most of the 2023 NFL season. That has changed over the past few weeks as undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito has led the team to three straight wins. One of the more important stats to come out of New York’s win over Green Bay was the zero sacks the team gave up. In his previous four games, DeVito was hauled down 26 times! Granted, the Packers are near the bottom of the league in total sacks with 26.
DeVito is playing with confidence and his success has the Giants performing at their best these past few weeks, but the teams they played during their run of wins do not compare in any way to the Philadelphia Eagles. If the Giants beat the Eagles in Week 16 it will be one of the biggest upsets of the year.
Philadelphia Eagles betting breakdown
The good luck of the Philadelphia Eagles ran out over the past few weeks. Early this year, the defending NFC champs were finding ways to win in tight games. The Eagles have been blown out in their past two outings, falling to the 49ers 42-19 in Week 13 and dropping a Sunday night game to the Cowboys, 33-13 in Week 14. The Eagles have a favorable schedule for the rest of the season, but they cannot lose any of those games if they want to ride into the playoffs with confidence.
The good thing for the Eagles is that their losses came to two of the best teams in the NFL right now, so they can take some solace in that. However, that doesn’t remove the fact that the Philly defense allowed their opponents to score points on 10 consecutive drives over the past two weeks; minus the kneeldown that ended the San Francisco game.
There are no easy games in the NFL, and the Eagles cannot afford to take the Giants lightly in Week 16.
