Anthony Edwards leads the way

Karl Anthony Towns scored 29-points, including the game-winner, in Saturday’s 121-120 win over New Orleans. Anthony Edwards also had 23 in the Timberwolves 14-point comeback victory. Ant-Man registered a season-low 13 points in an 18-point loss to Phoenix on Thursday, but has been otherwise excellent this year.

The 22-year-old All-Star is setting new career-highs with 26 points and 5.1 assists, with 5.6 rebounds per game. With Towns also averaging over 20 points and Rudy Gobert providing rebounding (12.2) and blocks (2.2), Minnesota has found a winning formula. At 9-3, they have best winning percentage in the Western Conference as they open a three-game home stand.

Jalen Brunson on fire

New York is riding a three-game winning streak with six victories in the past seven games. Jalen Brunson scored 32 points on back-to-back nights at Madison Square Garden over the weekend. On Friday, he went 32-7-7 in a 120-99 victory over the Wizards in the NBA In-Season Tournament. He followed that up with a 32-8-3 line in a 122-108 win over Charlotte on Saturday.

With RJ Barrett (21.6 ppg), Julius Randle (19.4) and Immanuel Quickley (15.5) rounding out a strong Knicks lineup, Tom Thibodeau’s squad is surging after a rough start to the season.

Minnesota vs New York

Minnesota is a 3.5-point home favorite on Monday with the over/under set at 214 points. Chris Finch’s team has yet to lose at home this season with a 5-0 record. They’re also a perfect 5-0 against the spread at the Target Center.

However, the Knicks continue to be one of the best road teams in basketball. New York is 5-2-1 ATS on the road in 2023-24 after going 29-17-1 ATS away from home last year.

Recent play

This is a sneaky great matchup on a Monday night. Both teams have won a lot of games early in the season. The Knicks have come up short against quality competition (Bucks, Celtics), but have handled any other team that has come in its path. While Minnesota lost a measuring stick game with the Suns on Wednesday, they defeated the Warriors in their own building twice last week.

Best Bet

This is a revenge game for Tom Thibodeau, who the Timberwolves fired in 2019 following an unsuccessful 2-year run as coach and president.

We’ll take the Knicks to cover (+3.5) on the road in Minnesota on Monday night with the UNDER 214.
