Juicy allegations against Lizzo
The lawsuit accuses Lizzo, her dance team captain Shirlene Quigley and her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., of nine areas of misconduct. According to some allegations, the Grammy-award winner made thinly-veiled comments about a dancer’s weight gain, staged grueling rehearsals that made one dancer soil herself and put them in unwanted sexual situations. That includes one of the more shocking claims – that Lizzo pressured them to eat bananas off a nude dancers’ genitals while touring in Amsterdam.
Since the initial lawsuit, at least six more former employees filed similar complaints.

The Truth Hurts
Lizzo has denied the allegations in an Instagram post, calling them “unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.” She also hired high-powered Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer, who has previous experience working with celebs such as Jonah Hill, Kim Kardashian, and Chris Brown.
The lawsuit against Lizzo could result in monetary damages for the plaintiffs if she were found liable. However, oddmakers believe it’s more likely that she is acquitted (+140) than convicted (+250) with a mistrial (+325) and case dismissal (+500) viewed as unlikely. While it’s not even on the board, our best guess is that Lizzo settles before the case is ever heard in court.

What’s next for the pop star?
With allegations racking up against the plus-sized Black artist, Lizzo’s reputation and career could be at risk. Therefore, oddsmakers allow you to wager on what comes next in 2023 for the songstress responsible for hits like “Good as Hell” and “Truth Hurts.”
An appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show (+200) may be required to smooth things over with her audience. The 35-year-old could also be dropped by her record label (+300).

Other amusing possibilities
Could Lizzo lose over 20 pounds (+500)? That probably wouldn’t help her standing amongst fans. But, if not Oprah, maybe an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show (+600), The Ellen DeGeneres Show (+600), or The Late Show (+600) would help if the Hollywood Writers Strike ever ends.
Going to jail (+5000) is listed as a remote possibility, as is showing up in a Sophia Nahli Allison movie (+3300). For those unaware, that’s the director who called Lizzo “a narcissistic bully” after quitting the “Love, Lizzo” film project.
Best Bet
Given that Lizzo just dropped “Special” in 2022, releasing a new album (+600) is probably not in the cards for 2023. Neither is winning a MTV VMA Award (+1000) this week.
Therefore, we’ll hope for a swift end to the Writer’s Strike and an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres (+600), who will definitely be able to lend a sympathetic ear to Lizzo after facing similar charges of her own not too long ago.
