As you can see, the odds are slightly lopsided at some sportsbooks. For example, Miss Philippines is +1000 at Bovada and BetOnline yet sits at +400 at BetUS, which makes her a clear-cut favorite. Something to keep an eye on when betting on Miss Universe.

The event will take place in El Salvador on Saturday and can be watched for free on the Roku Channel. Things get started at 8 PM EST.

Miss Puerto Rico

Karla Guilfú Acevedo is representing Puerto Rico in the contest. The 24-year-old, who recently graduated from university with a Psychology degree, just won the Puerto Rican pageantry which paved the way for her to represent her country on Saturday. Acevedo was also a runner-up in Miss Supranational 2021. Acevedo is working on a master’s in counseling and appears to be focused on advocating for mental health through social media and through a local university. Acevedo has 118,000 followers on Instagram.

Miss Philippines

Michelle Dee will be representing the Philippines here. She’s already a star in her country and honestly has the best resume of anyone in the competition, hence the +400 odds at BetUS. Dee is an actress, model, TV host, and talk show personality. She was Miss World Philippines four years ago and Miss Universe Philippines in 2022. This will be her biggest moment yet on Saturday. Dee also spends her free time doing good, helping kids with autism and other disabilities. She is paying it forward and clearly has a good heart. Between her good looks and beautiful personality, Dee is certainly one to watch on Saturday because she could very well be crowned Miss Universe 2023.

Miss Thailand

Anntonia Porsild cannot be overlooked in the Miss Universe picks, either. The 27-year-old has quite the resume, winning the Miss Supranational pageant in 2019, becoming the first Thai woman to win the competition. If she takes home first place on Saturday, it would also mark history in the pageantry world because no woman has ever won two of the “Big 6” competitions. Miss Supranational is considered one. She’s definitely deserving of being one of the favorites. Porsild also has a massive 1.2 million followers on Instagram.

Miss France

Diana Leyre will wear France across her chest at Miss Universe and has +1200 odds to win. Aside from being a model, she’s also a radio personality. Leyre has won three pageantries in France, including Miss France last year. She’s no stranger to a competition like this and knows what it takes to win. Leyre is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Miss Universe Picks

You would be foolish to bet on just one model here because you can never really call who may win it. To me, Miss Philippines is a must to bet on due to her decorated resume and experience. Aside from her, I also like Miss Puerto Rico, who has a good head on her shoulders and a good heart. That definitely means something to judges. Lastly, as a longshot pick, take a look at Miss Chile, a contender in Miss Supranational two years ago before health issues forced her to withdraw. She’s got a fantastic energy about her and the looks to go with it.
