The San Antonio Spurs haven’t found a way how to deal with the Portland Trail Blazers over the last few years; they will have a shot at them this Wednesday in the best NBA game of the evening, at the Moda Center at 10 PM ET.
San Antonio beat the Clippers on Tuesday night 113-103 with 25 points from Patty Mills, who replaced injured Tony Parker. The Spurs are 39-15 straight up and 26-28 against the spread.
“Down a couple of guys, not being able to practice yesterday, and to be able to come in here and put together a 48-minute performance like this was great for us,” said Tim Duncan about Mills. “It was a big win for us, especially on the road against a very good ballclub.”
The Spurs have lost seven of the last 10 games against the Blazers at any court; they don’t have an answer for the Blazers, and to make it worse they will try to win at Portland without Parker in the lineup again.
“We’re just trying to get him healthy,” forward Tim Duncan said about Parker. “I mean, players being healthy is so underrated. When people play through things, and they aren’t 100 percent, the season becomes a grind. So we want to be 100 percent so that down the stretch and in the playoffs, when we ask him to do all that we need him to do, he’s ready to go and carry that load on his shoulders.”
For Portland, LaMarcus Aldridge won’t be around for this game; he was hurt during the 117-110 win at Minnesota on Feb. 8.
The Blazers are 1.5 point favorites over the Spurs in the NBA betting spread.
