Diamondbacks Are the World Series Favorites With the Fall Classic Here

It’s here! After a long campaign for Major League Baseball, there are only two teams left to take home the World Series glory. Who will come out on top? Earlier in the week, the Texas Rangers were able to take down the reigning champs and now they have the title on their minds. However, there’s no doubt that the Diamondbacks are the World Series favorites with the Fall Classic here

This figures to be a great showdown between the D-Backs and Rangers, as both teams have a tremendous amount of talent both with their hitting and their pitching as well. The Rangers were able to showcase a lot of grit in their series against the Houston Astros, as it was considered a major upset for them to move on. Texas is riding high right now and understandably so for what they got done.

The Phillies looked ready to have no issues going up against the D-Backs in their series, but things were forced to a Game 7 on Tuesday night. Luckily, though, the NL West side was able to take care of business at Citizens Banks Park and now they’re ready to try and get the job done moving forward. That won’t be easy, though, as the Rangers are motivated to keep this magical run going.

According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Diamondbacks hold -110 MLB betting odds to win this final series. The Rangers are the underdogs, holding +145 World Series betting odds. This one really could go either way, but the fact of the matter is that Arizona has the better squad. We’re going with the D-Backs as our pick, as Arizona’s best players should be electric with all of the marbles on the line in this one.

The Rangers shocked everyone by reaching the World Series

It goes without saying, but the Rangers shocked everyone by reaching the World Series in the first place. Texas was a dumpster fire last season and no one thought that they would make the postseason this year, let alone push through to the World Series. However, a big offseason inspired the Rangers to do the unthinkable and now people in Arlington think they have a great shot of capturing the hardware.

From the start of the regular season, Texas wanted to send a statement to the rest of the division. They almost won the AL West, but the Astros ended up taking home the banner instead. However, the Rangers were able to get the last laugh, eliminating the Astros from the playoffs in the ALCS. Again, who saw that coming?

“It’s not easy to accept or say, but we got beat,” Astros manager Dusty Baker said. “We’ve been spoiled around here as far as winning and winning and winning. And heck, I’ve been here four years, and we’ve been to two World Series and two championship series. We have nothing to be ashamed of or nothing to hold our head down about. We’re down, but we’re not out. And every team in baseball would trade to have had the last four years that we’ve had.”

As you can see from that quote from Baker after the Game 7 loss, the Astros felt like they had a great chance to move on to try and repeat as the champs, but Texas spoiled those plans. Now, the Rangers want this incredible story to keep on going. However, the Diamondbacks are hoping to do everything in their power to prevent that from going down in the near future.

How many games will the World Series last?

Leading up to the opening showdown, how many games will the World Series last? That’s a question a lot of people have on their minds, as this could prove to last a while. Keep in mind that both the American League Championship Series and the National League Championship Series both lasted the full seven games.

This wasn’t what experts were expecting, as the Phillies and Astros were both favored to get the job done much earlier than what proved to happen. However, you’ve got to give the Diamondbacks and the Rangers credit for showing so much fight. The D-Backs have inspired a lot of people, as they made a lot of plays happen in recent weeks.

Now, though, only two teams remain in the hunt to win the Fall Classic and you already know that there’s going to be a ton of drama over the next two weeks. On paper, yes, the Diamondbacks are the favorites to come away with a win and bring home not only a title, but also a ton of joy for the hometown fans. Phoenix will go wild if a World Series title is won.

Having said that, everyone back in Texas doesn’t care that the Rangers are big-time underdogs to win the World Series. Ever since the year started, countless people have counted the Rangers out. Time and time again, though, the Rangers are proving everyone wrong. They will look to make this series last as long as possible. We think 6-7 games will be on the way.
