As we inch closer to the Major League Baseball postseason, people can’t wait to see how things will shape out. The Los Angeles Dodgers figure to go on a deep postseason run, while the Seattle Mariners are hoping to lock in a spot. That’s why this week’s series will be so big for the clubs. The three-game series is set to start Friday, and the Dodgers should take down the Mariners with Clayton Kershaw pitching.
Kershaw may be climbing in age a bit, but no one can argue that he’s still one of the best left-handed pitchers in the game. Kershaw has been a nightmare for opposing teams to deal with, as his 12-4 record and 2.61 ERA show you just how phenomenal he is whenever he’s on the mound. The Seattle hitters are going to have a tough time trying to record some timely hits off of him, that’s for sure.

For Seattle, each game this weekend will feel like it’s a must-win one. The Mariners recently had the lead in the AL West, but hot play from the Houston Astros has eliminated that position. Now, the Mariners are in a fight to try and hang on to the last Wild Card spot. It won’t be easy and Seattle will most definitely need to record some close wins down the stretch – this includes in showdowns with Los Angeles.
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Dodgers hold -115 MLB betting odds in this one. The Mariners, the home team, are the underdogs with +125 MLB betting odds. While it wouldn’t surprise us to see Seattle make the fans at T-Mobile Park happy with a win, we don’t think they’ll be able to get things accomplished there. We’re going with the Dodgers as our pick.

As things stand, the Dodgers hold fantastic World Series odds and they’ll have a great chance to make a statement going up against a club like Seattle this weekend. Los Angeles has all the tools to win it all this year. Not only that, but Mookie Betts is 100 percent in the NL MVP conversation. It’s between Betts and Atlanta’s Ronald Acuña Jr. right now and things truly could go either way.
Interestingly enough, both of these guys have been playing so well and they could end up in the Fall Classic too. Both the Braves and the Dodgers hold the top World Series betting odds. Fans are already dreaming of these two teams meeting in the NLCS. That would be an incredible series and one that would most definitely draw a lot of attention. With Los Angeles, they’d love nothing more than to bring home the NL pennant.

What’s really going to help the Dodgers here is if their hot bats can stay operating so well. Los Angeles has one of the best lineups in the bigs, with Betts, Freddie Freeman and J.D. Martinez leading the way. On top of that, LA also has a fantastic starting rotation and incredible arms in the bullpen too. People all over California can’t wait to see how this team can do to close out the regular season and in the playoffs too.
According to the oddsmakers, the Dodgers hold +450 odds to win the World Series this year. The Braves are ahead of them with their +350 odds. These two powerhouses are both hungry to win the title and from our chair, we think it will be one of those two clubs to capture the glory. Don’t be surprised if the Dodgers end up pulling this off, though. It could be a memorable season for the NL West side and their star players will be ready to answer the call when they’re needed to deliver for their skipper.
Can the Mariners punch their ticket to the playoffs?
A big question people all over Seattle have on their minds is can the Mariners punch their ticket to the playoffs? As of this writing, the Mariners are 15 games over .500 and they have a sensational chance of playing beyond the regular season. The Mariners are tied with the Blue Jays, at 80-65, for the final Wild Card spot in the American League. This makes the final couple weeks of the season that much more important for the AL West side. Seattle can’t afford to lose too many games.
The same can be said for Toronto, as the Blue Jays are hoping to win out on that Wild Card spot over the Mariners. This really could go either way. At the same time, the Mariners could catch fire late and steal the AL West title away from the Houston Astros. Houston is currently in first place, but the Texas Rangers are right in the mix of things too. Things could go any different way here. The Mariners hold +225 odds to make the postseason. Will they do so? We can’t wait to find out.
