In a sudden turn of events, there’s excitement surrounding the New York Yankees once again. In what has been a rough year for the Bronx Bombers, New York has been on a bit of a hot streak of late, winning seven of its last 10 games. With this, while the chances of the postseason are small, fans are feeling pretty good right now. With that said, a key series with Milwaukee is on the way and the Yankees should take down the Brewers on Friday night.
This will be the first game of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium and the stands are expected to be packed for this one. The Brewers have been pretty strong this year, as they currently hold a 77-61 record. The Brewers are in first place in the NL Central standings and the club’s supporters have a strong feeling that they’ll be able to hold off the Chicago Cubs to win the division – that’s how good they’ve been.

This won’t be an easy series for the Yankees and it’s up in the air who they’ll send out to the bump on Friday night. However, New York has been able to build some momentum and there’s plenty of buzz surrounding them. Aaron Judge is back to full health and he’s always a threat to leave the yard. If he, Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres can record some timely hits, then it could be a big night for the Yankees against the Brew Crew.

The Brewers, the underdogs for this one, hold +125 MLB betting odds. The oddsmakers clearly like the Yankees for this one because they’re the home team. The Brewers may have a better record, but we think the Yankees will be the ones to post a win. We’re going with NY as our pick.

The over should hit between the Yankees and Brewers
When looking at both of these clubs, it’s easy to think that the over should hit between the Yankees and Brewers. Both of these lineups are loaded with talent. For the Yankees, we’ve already brought up Judge (the reigning AL MVP), Stanton and Torres. However, the emergence of youngster Jasson Dominguez over the past week has been incredible. Dominguez recently made his 2023 debut and he wasted no time in belting a dinger of Justin Verlander. This is something he’ll never forget.

That call by Michael Kay only made things better for Dominguez. Since being called up by the Yankees, Dominguez has two homers and four RBI to his name. He’s got a bright future for this team and the NY supporters are ready to see what he can do the rest of the campaign. If Dominguez can stay hot for the rest of the month, then it’s only going to create even more buzz around his name for the future.
“I knew it was going to be a lot of different feelings finally stepping on the field,” Domínguez said on his debut with the Yankees and taking Verlander yard. “I mentioned my dream coming true right in front of me, and I was able to connect there for that hit and it ended up being a homer. So my mind is flying away.”
The Yankees will hope to see Dominguez hit some more blasts this weekend. Per the oddsmakers, the over/under for Friday night’s showdown has been set at 6.5 runs, with -110 MLB betting odds for both. There’s going to be an electric feel at the stadium for this one and we think that it will end up being a high-scoring contest between the two squads. We’re definitely going with the over.

With how hot they’ve played over the past two weeks, can the Yankees somehow sneak into the postseason? Things aren’t looking likely for the Yankees, as they’re way back in the Wild Card standings. NY entered the season with high hopes of winning the AL East and going on a World Series push, but their awful first half of the campaign really set them back. Now, they almost need a miracle to get into the playoffs. There’s going to be plenty of people calling for Aaron Boone to be fired if they don’t.
The Vegas oddsmakers aren’t giving the Yankees much of a chance, as they hold +1400 odds to play in the postseason. There are some big series on the way for the Yankees, including the one against Milwaukee. If they can record a sweet of the Brewers, then it will surely lift their chances. There isn’t much room for the Yankees to play sloppy the rest of the regular season. While we’re not ready to rule them out of the playoffs just yet, things indeed aren’t looking likely for this group as things stand for them.
