Week 21 of the 2022 NBA season is winding down. Tonight’s schedule is incredibly light as there are only two games on the NBA docket. In the early game, the Brooklyn Nets travel to Philadelphia to meet the 76ers. In the late game, the Golden State Warriors head to Denver to face the Nuggets. Brooklyn and Golden State have struggled as of late, while Philadelphia and Denver are winning far more than losing these days.
Brooklyn vs. Philadelphia

Two teams headed in the opposite direction meet in the early game on tonight’s NBA schedule. In that matchup, the Brooklyn Nets, who were on of the early favorites to win the 2022 NBA Championship, look to capitalize on a recent win over the Charlotte Hornets. The Nets have their work cut out for them against the surging Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia is the No. 2 team in the NBA Eastern Conference, the Nets are in the No. 8 position in the East.
Philadelphia (40-24) is 8-2 in their past 10 outings. The squad had a five-game winning streak end on Saturday with a 99-82 to the Eastern Conference leading Miami Heat, but the 76ers bounced back from that setback to down the Chicago Bulls 121-106 on Monday. Joel Embiid is having an MVP caliber year for Philly. He put up 43 points against Chicago and added 14 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals on 36 minutes of play. Embiid has had 10 games this season where he has scored 40 or more points and added 10 or more rebounds. If he puts up two more games this season with those numbers, Embiid will tie the NBA record shared by Russell Westbrook and Moses Malone.
Brooklyn ended a four-game losing skid on Tuesday with a 132-121 over the Hornets. The team is 4-6 in their past 10 games. Kyrie Irving had a monster game against Charlotte with 50 points. He connected on 15 of 19 field goal attempts in that contest. Irving will play in Philly and the Nets need him to come up big if they want to beat the 76ers.
Pick: Philadelphia to beat Brooklyn
Golden State vs. Denver

|Golden State Warriors||TBA||TBA||TBA||TBA||TBA|
Despite a 3-7 record over their past 10 games, the Golden State Warriors are the No. 3 team in the Western Conference. Tonight, Golden State travels to Denver to face the surging Nuggets. Denver is the No. 6 team in the West and they are 9-1 in their past 10 games.
On Tuesday, the Warriors ended a five-game losing skid with a win over the Clippers. In the game before that, Denver defeated Golden State 131-124. The Warriors were without Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins, who did not make the trip in order to get rest. The loss dropped the Warriors to 0-3 against Denver on the season. Curry, Thompson and Wiggins are expected to play against Denver tonight.
Nikola Jokic had an outstanding game against Golden State. He put up 32 points to go along with 15 rebounds and 13 assists.
If the Warriors can play with the same energy tonight with their starters in the lineup they should give Denver a tough test. I think they will do that. Golden State has not played well as of late and they are feeling the pressure of that poor play. They are no longer neck-and-neck with the league leading Phoenix Suns and that has to eat at them.
Pick: Golden State to beat Denver.
