Shane Battier Signs with the Miami Heat

The Miami Heat made their first move on the market this Tuesday as they added the power forward
Shane Battier to their roster, to help the “Big Three” in the pursuit of their first championship ring.

Shane Battier Signs with the Miami HeatThe Heat came up short last season as they lost the NBA finals to the Dallas Mavericks in six games. One
of their problems was the lack of defense and depth in the roster; that’s exactly, what the addition of
Battier intents to do.

“The lockout gave me lots of time to consider what was important to me at this stage of my life and
career,” Battier wrote on Twitter. “Over the last week, I’ve played out every scenario in my head over
and over. It always came back to one thing for me: a winning role.”

Shane’s idea is to win a NBA ring and what better and easier way to do it that along with Lebron James,
Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. With 33 years old, Battier averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds for the
Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies last season.

Battier’s best asset is his ability to defense any big star, but also he is a consistent three point shooter
that averaged 38 percent from long range last season, and 39 in his entire career.

Also, some sources mentioned that center Eddy Curry will sing with the Heat on Friday. He has only
played 10 games over the last three years because of some injuries and some weight issues; however,
because he has a good relationship with Lebron James, he’ll get another shot in the NBA.

He has a great track record when it comes to wagering on baseball – largely because he's more than willing to bet against the Mets. His career profits are impressive, but not quite as good as his handsome friend Frank Lorenzo. He wishes he hadn't let Frank write his profile.
