A preview of what could be the NBA finals in about two months, will take the stage this Monday as the San Antonio Spurs visit the Bankers Life Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers, at 7 PM ET.
Both teams are number one in their respective conferences; however, they have different realities entering the month of April.
The Spurs are on fire winning 17 games in a row, and without losing one single game in the month of March. In their last outing, they outplayed the New Orleans Pelicans 96-80 with 18 points from Marco Belinelli.
“It is sweet to be a part of that,” Manu Ginobili said. “It is not something that happens very often because it is a long spread of the game, a month or two. Here or there you have a bad game or the opponent has a bad one, but a lot of things have combined for us to have this type of streak. We played really well and we are healthy.”
The Pacers have lost two games in a row and four of their last five. They lost 90-76 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, with one of the worst offensive performances of the season.
“It’s a lot of fundamentals: screening, the extra pass, all those little things,” Pacers coach Frank Vogel said about why his team is struggling.
According to the NBA odds, the Spurs are 3.5 point favorites for Monday. San Antonio has won nine of the last 10 matchup against Indiana; however, the Pacers won the only time they met this season.
