The two best teams in the Western Conference will go head to head in the last day of 2013 as the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Portland Trail Blazers, this Tuesday at 8 PM ET at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
OKC is 25-5 and leads the West; Portland is 24-7 tied in second place with the San Antonio Spurs.
“We like to get our guys over quickly so we can contest those shots,” Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. “The thing that we want to continue to work on and build on throughout this season is prevent those shots from even taking place.”
The Blazers have lost two in a row against the Miami Heat and the New Orleans Pelicans.
“We have 24 wins,” guard Wesley Matthews said. “Two consecutive losses aren’t going to keep us down. We’re going to make mistakes, but at the same time we aren’t going to act like this is the best we can do.”
The Blazers are the league’s highest scoring team with 108.6 points per game; OKC is third with 106.1 PPG every night.
The NBA Odds have the Thunder as 5.5 point favorites for this big game; the game total is set at 213.5.
Also, the betting trends reveal Portland is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Oklahoma City, and the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Oklahoma City’s last 5 games when playing Portland.
