The Miami Heat’s road to the ‘three-peat’ goes through the Charlotte Bobcats and this Sunday at 3:30 PM ET game one of the NBA first round playoffs series will go underway at the American Airlines Arena .
One of the Heat concerns is the health of Dwayne Wade, who has been rested to be ready for the playoffs.
“It’s a lot better than going into it last year,” Wade said. “Hopefully, I’ll have a better first round health wise than I did first round versus the Bucks last year, when I had to miss [Game 4] in Milwaukee. I look forward to Game 1 and hopefully not having any setbacks.”
The Bobcats have lost the last 15 games they have played against the Heat; in fact, since the Big 3 arrived to South Beach, Charlotte hasn’t won a single game in the series.
Miami, of course, is not ready to take the passenger seat.
“We’re still finding our way, which is tough. … But I do think our best basketball is ahead of us,” Heat forward Shane Battier said. “Ultimately, we’re judged on the second season. We all know that. That’s been the case since the first year this team was put together.
The Miami Heat is 9.5 point favorites in the spread over the Bobcats in game one. The game total is at 205.5 points.
The Heat is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games, and the Bobcats are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Sunday games.
