With talk of an impending sale swirling, Bellator 301 could be the final card of the fight promotion. The event, which takes place on Friday, November 17, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, IL, features two title fights. Amosov won the Bellator title in June 2021 and defended the belt in February of this year with a decision win over Logan Storley. Some MMA pundits have picked the 30-year-old as the best welterweight MMA fighter in the world. That’s how talented Amosov is. An outstanding wrestler who has picked up his striking game over the years, Amosov is an excellent and complete fighter, who can control every aspect of the fight game.
Jackson is coming off a July 2022 decision win over former Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima. Usually, I wouldn’t be worried about the time off for the 33-year-old Jackson, but facing a fighter as talented as Amosov, that time off is a concern. Like his opponent, Jackson is a well-rounded fighter who can do everything well and should be in this fight for the length of the bout.

A Bellator bantamweight title unification bout holds the co-main event spot at Bellator 301. In this matchup, Bellator 135-pound champion Sergio Pettis (23-5) returns to the cage for the first time since he defended his crown against Patricio Pitbull in June to face interim champ Patchy Mix (18-1), who is coming off winning the Bellator bantamweight Grand Prix in April 2023 after knocking out Raufeon Stots.
Pettis is coming off what might be the best performance of his career. The 30-year-old first defended his title with a come-from-behind knockout win over Kyoji Horiguchi in December 2021. After that win, his decision victory over the betting favorite, Patricio Pitbull, put a stamp on his title reign. That win will give him a lot of confidence.
