Despite the fact that the numbers for Delaware sports betting may not be the biggest across the United States, don’t think for a second that they’re not having an impact across the country. Matter of fact, the Delaware sports betting laws could impact Ohio in its push for upcoming changes in the midwest. That’s right, Delaware indeed has made quite the impact in the sports betting world, and other places are looking to follow their model.
As plenty of people know out there, Delaware has allowed for sports betting to be participated in at bars, restaurants, and local retailers, which includes grocery stores and c-stores. This has allowed people to really have sports betting at their fingertips whenever they leave their homes. It has allowed for large growth in the sports betting numbers, which of course, has been great to see.
With Ohio set to open sports betting on Jan. 1, 2023, there are countless locations applying for sports betting kiosks. Normally when sports betting is introduced to a new state, there’s only a handful of authorized spots where sportsbooks can be featured. This isn’t expected to be the case in Ohio, as they indeed want things to be in place all over the state once Jan. 1 arrives this upcoming winter.
With so many bars and restaurants applying for kiosks, certain places like grocery stores are now showing interest in trying to follow suit. They’ve seen what has happened in Delaware, so of course, they want to make sure they can get a piece of the puzzle for themselves as well. Things really will be interesting in Ohio if grocery stores have kiosks as well, which could very well end up being the case.

With the calendar reading mid-August, the NFL football betting season is right around the corner, and Delaware sports betting is set to reach new levels this football campaign. There’s tons of excitement surrounding the NFL, with several teams in the hunt to reach the ultimate glory this next February. As things stand, the Buffalo Bills hold the top Super Bowl betting odds over in Vegas, and that’s not expected to change soon.
At the same time, people in Delaware are going to be keeping a close eye both on the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. Both NFC East sides are hoping to impress this year, but the Dallas Cowboys remain the favorites to win the division. With that said, the Eagles sure are looking tough, especially after they added superstar wideout A.J. Brown via trade during the NFL Draft.
Brown is one of the top wideouts in the game, and Jalen Hurts is of course, going to love the idea of throwing him the ball. Brown is going to provide plenty of nightmares for opposing defensive backs out there. As for the Commanders, things are going to be looking different this year now that former first-round pick Carson Wentz is the new starting quarterback for this team moving forward.
Wentz is going to have countless eyes on him starting Week 1. Will he be able to live up to the hype? That remains to be seen. Regardless of if he does or not, people all over Delaware are going to be betting big on the Commanders, plus the Eagles. We’ll see if either team is able to make some noise in the NFC East and potentially snatch the division title away from the Cowboys in 2022.

MLB betting will continue to rise in Delaware as well
Don’t forget that MLB betting will continue to rise in Delaware as well. Why, you ask? Well, the Philadelphia Phillies – the most popular team in Delaware – has completely turned its season around after firing Joe Girardi as manager. With the team at 22-29 when they fired the former skipper, things sure were looking bleak for the club. No one thought they’d push for a postseason spot.
Oh, how things have changed. Right now, the Phillies are expected to grab one of the NL Wild Card spots and sneak into the playoffs. This has been sensational to see, especially with Bryce Harper out due to his injury after being hit by a pitch earlier in the campaign. Regardless of that, the Phillies indeed have done a 180, and they’re an exciting team right now firing on all cylinders, which has been fantastic to see for people in Philadelphia and Delaware.
With the end of the regular season around the corner, people all over Delaware surely can’t wait for the postseason to arrive. Even if the Phillies don’t win the division, they’ll be ready to make plenty of noise in the Wild Card round. Imagine if they’re able to pull off an upset and move on to the NLDS. Then, the bets would really be flying, and the interest in the club would reach a new level. We can’t wait to see how things play out here.
