Delaware Posted Impressive Sports Betting Numbers in January

This is what lawmakers and officials in the state have been hoping for in terms of Delaware sports betting news. In late December, the brilliant news arrived that legal mobile betting was arriving in Delaware. This was a long time coming, as there had been a strong push to get things done for a while. With things finally legalized, people all over the state were quick to take advantage of things. Because of this, Delaware posted impressive sports betting numbers in January.

According to a report, Delaware finished with a total sports betting handle of $17 million for the month. This was the highest betting handle for the state since October of 2021, which shows how important the addition of online betting has been already. This past July, the handle was $2.1 million, which was a new low for everyone involved. Because of that low number, it only added to the urgency for online betting to arrive.

Thankfully, the wheels were in motion shortly after that, with things finalized in the early winter. There were high hopes for the start of online betting and the numbers didn’t disappoint at all for January. It’s easy to see why the month was so strong for Delaware despite it being the debut for mobile wagers. The end of the NFL regular season was going to be strong, but the NFL betting for the postseason was high in January too.

Moving forward, the NFL, NBA, MLB and college sports will surely be the leaders for Delaware’s online betting efforts. There are few things better for sports fans than being able to place a bet from anywhere on the go, or from the comfort of their own home. This wasn’t a possibility for people in Delaware for a while, but thankfully that’s no longer the case. There’s no doubt in our minds that the stats for online betting will continue to improve the state’s numbers as a whole.

Online NFL betting is going to continue to be high for Delaware

It goes without saying, but online NFL betting is going to continue to be high for Delaware moving forward. Things were of course strong in the postseason, with countless wagers placed from start to finish. In the end, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers met in the Super Bowl, with Patrick Mahomes and Co. taking care of business in an overtime thriller. Who will win it all next season?

We can’t wait to find out and Super Bowl betting will surely be high in Delaware too. Before next season arrives, though, there are plenty of offseason bets for people to keep in mind. This includes the NFL Draft, as the buzz for late April has only gone up following the 2024 NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Over the weekend, some of the best players in college football showcased their stuff in front of scouts and general managers.

Across the globe, people are continuing to put money down on who they think will be the No. 1 overall pick. The odds-on favorite is quarterback Caleb Williams. Williams didn’t throw at the Combine, but he still had meetings with GMs. The Chicago Bears hold the No. 1 pick, but it’s up in the air if they’ll keep that pick or trade down. Teams like the Giants and Vikings are in need of a new QB and they could possibly trade up.

While there are no pro teams in Delaware, that doesn’t mean that people don’t love football all over the state. They’ll of course be focused on seeing if anyone from the University of Delaware hears their name called during the 2024 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see if that happens or not, but you never know what might happen. Regardless, NFL Draft betting will be impressive for Delaware and even more bets will be on the way as we get closer to the first round.

Delaware baseball fans are ready for Opening Day to get here

Meanwhile on the diamond, Delaware baseball fans are ready for Opening Day to get here later this month. Spring training has been a ton of fun already, with top stars showcasing just how good they’re going to be this year. Again, similar to the NFL, there are no pro MLB teams in Delaware. However, people in the state pay close attention to nearby squads.

This includes the New York Yankees, who are hoping to get back to the postseason this campaign after missing out last fall. The Yankees made a huge splash in the offseason by trading for Juan Soto. Soto has been a rockstar in spring training, hitting the cover off the ball. Fans are hopeful that he can keep things going once the regular season gets here.

The Yankees haven’t won the World Series in over 10 years, which is quite stunning. The hope is they can get back to a top level in 2024. In order for that to happen, guys on the team need to play to the best of their abilities. From start to finish this season too, online bets in Delaware on the Bronx Bombers should be through the roof. Baseball betting as a whole will be on the rise.
