Six Reasons to Bet on These Minnesota Betting Sites

With a host of experience throughout our team, we took the time to look through the very best online betting platforms offered to citizens residing in Minnesota. To make life easier for our readers, we’ve highlighted some of the core fundamentals that any top provider should provide to users. We’ve made things easier by putting together a shortlist of six key things to look out for when signing up for a new bookmaker.

As we always say to our customers, when it comes to money you need to know that you’re dealing with a trustworthy and reliable provider. This should be number one on everyone’s lists, quality customer service is paramount.
While this is very obvious, it’s also very important. Before you deposit money with any online provider, make sure that you take a look through state laws regarding online wagering, otherwise, you’ll deposit money and now be able to use it!
This should be paramount and something all providers do as standard. The odds should always be up to date and in line with what’s on offer at top bookmakers in Vegas. The Vegas line is the benchmark for the US gambling industry.
What we mean by this is to check across a few bookmakers before placing a wager. This is important because you need to know what the best value is for a particular market. All bookmakers offer slightly different odds – so, always check!
Something that has littered the industry since it went online is malpractice and fraudulent activity. Working with any of our recommended bookmakers means you won’t even have to worry about this problem.
Every bettor should expect a hefty welcome bonus, which often involves free cash and spins. But, they should also demand more! Seasonal promotions on sports markets and a range of competitions to give back to the community are something to look for in any top-tier bookmaker.

Minnesota Sports Betting Timeline

In Minnesota, there has been very little progress toward bringing online sports betting to those Americans residing in the state. Despite that, there are many lobbyists and campaigners who want to see the gambling industry develop and expand its betting services in Minnesota.

For those optimistic campaigners that hope the bill will pass in the not so distant future, there will be some great betting opportunities. The latest news shows that it’s unlikely that we’ll get a look at online betting in 2023, but as soon as things open up, the state will get things online quickly.

In order to ensure our readers are up-to-date on all the happenings related to online gambling in Minnesota, we’ve created a timeline below. It will highlight all the key events in the last few years. So, without further adieu, let’s take a look at the last few years.

2023

January – Sports Betting Bills Face Hurdles and Fail to Pass

Multiple sports betting bills were introduced, with Rep. Zack Stephenson leading one of the efforts. However, none of these bills passed as the session concluded without approval, primarily due to disputes regarding the inclusion of horse racing tracks in the proposed legislation. During March, DraftKings launched the DK Horse-branded app, facilitating pari-mutuel wagering for residents, aligning with the Kentucky Derby.

2022

May – Land Of 10,000 Aches: Minnesota Sports Betting Bill Dies

After recent attempts to get things moving, it looks like Minnesota sports betting legislation efforts are on ice until next year. The MN sports betting legislation did not pass on Sunday night, with the Senate committee turning the bill down. The session started well, with support from Minnesota gaming tribes, but a disagreement from key players means it’s not going to be a reality in 2023.

2021

November – The odds on Minnesota adopting sports betting just got a lot better

The chair of the Minnesota House Commerce Committee, Rep. Zack Stephenson, hadn’t given the bill a look in almost nine months. But, in the last two weeks, he announced that he would be the lead sponsor of a sports betting bill, that could make Minnesota the 33rd state to legalize betting. “Minnesotans should be able to engage in legal sports betting right here in Minnesota,” Stephenson said. With much still unknown, Stephenson will aim to hold talks and move things forward in the near future.
