The frustration of a missed opportunity for Scheffler is understandable. Some expect a bit of a drop early this week but maybe a little fire in the belly is a good thing. After all, he won twice early last year (WM Phoenix and The Players Championship) then flirted with victory the rest of 2023. Great results are nice but Scheffler wants to win. It is hard to believe the young golfer only has six career wins on the PGA Tour.

Again, comfort sometimes is a good thing. Success sometimes involves going back in time a little. The fun part in trying to guess winners here is that Thomas is +360 and +170 to finish in the Top 5 and Top 10 respectively. That Top 10 number had climbed as high as +200 on Bovada. Keep an eye on movement over the next couple of days. However, that strokes gained to putting may be the difference on Sunday for Thomas.
