How to read Yankees betting lines
Yankees betting lines are typically offered in three different forms:
- American
- Decimal
- Fractional
At sportsbooks in New York and across the United States, you will almost always see American odds used, but you will have the option to view them in decimal format as well. Even though the Yankees’ betting odds might look different with each format, they all mean the same thing.
It’s also important to note that when you look at single-game Yankees betting lines, a (+) or a (-) has a special meaning. Teams that are the favorites have a (-) sign with the odds and underdogs have a (+) sign.
American odds are viewed in three-digit whole numbers, and the closer you get to 0, the higher the probability of that outcome occurring. If you see odds with a (-) sign, that means that outcome is more likely to happen than not.
Decimal odds also have three digits, but there is a decimal point separating them. These odds might look more intimidating than American odds, but it’s actually much easier to determine your potential payout.
With decimal odds, the odds tell you how much money you can win by wagering $1. For example, odds set at 1.91 would mean that a $10 bet could equal a payout of $19.10.
Fractional odds are most commonly used in horse racing but could be used for future betting options as well.

Total
