Denver’s two man show

Nikola Jokic notched 32 points, 21 boards and 10 assists in Game 3, extending his single-season record with his 10th triple-double of the postseason. His teammate Jamal Murray also finished with 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists in Wednesday’s 109-94 blowout of the Heat.

While Jimmy Butler (28 points) and Bam Adebayo (22 points, 17 rebounds) showed up to play, Miami got very little from their supporting cast. After making 17 triples in a 111-108 Game 2 win, they went only 11-of-34 (31.4%) from beyond the arc. Known for their toughness and tenacity, Erik Spoelsta’s club was outrebounded 58-33 and outscored in the paint 60-34.

Can Miami comeback?

The winner of Game 3 in a NBA Finals series tied 1-1 has gone on to win 80% (32 of 40) of the time. While it’s happened four times in the past 12 seasons, including last year’s Warriors and the 2013 Heat, it’s rare for the lower-seeded team to pull off the comeback. Of the eight clubs that overcame a 2-1 series deficit, only one didn’t have home-court advantage.

Miami held a series lead following Game 3 in all three of their previous matchups this postseason. But, they certainly know what it’s like to come from behind. They’ve already won seven playoff games after trailing by at least 12 points.

Miami vs Denver

Denver is a 3-point road favorite in Game 4 and at a ridiculous -800 to win the series. On the flip side, you can get Miami at almost 6-to-1 odds (+580) if you think they can win three of the next four games. It might be too tall of a task when you consider the Heat have lost three-consecutive home contests and five of their past seven games overall.

To even the series at 2-2, Erik Spoelstra’s club will have to be red-hot from 3-point range while limiting the Nuggets’ two-headed attack.

Denver winning the series 4-1 is available at +105. If they can pull off another road victory at Kaseya Center, Michael Malone’s team can capture the championship on Monday night at home, where they are 10-1 in the postseason.

Best Bet

Miami has been counted out many times before – however, this looks like the end of their miracle run. With Jokic in the midst of a playoff performance for the ages, the Nuggets are just too efficient offensively.

We like Denver to cover the 3-point spread on the road in Game 4 and claim the franchise’s first NBA title back at home on Monday night.
