Georgia is looking to become the first college football team to win three national titles in a row in almost nine decades. Before they do that, they’ll likely need to topple Alabama and LSU in the SEC to secure one of four playoff spots.

Bulldogs the favorites
Georgia (-125) is the favorite to win the SEC for the second-straight year. Before winning their first of two national titles, the Bulldogs lost 41-24 to Alabama in the 2021 SEC Championship Game. Of course, Kirby Smart’s crew avenged that loss with a 33-18 victory against the Crimson Tide in the national championship game. Last year, they defeated LSU 50-30 for the SEC title before successfully defending their title.
The Bulldogs lost quarterback Stetson Bennett and five of their best defenders to the 2023 NFL Draft. However, the team reloaded on D and new QB Carson Beck still has all-world tight end Brock Bowers to throw to. Additionally, they have one of the easiest schedules in all of college football.

Roll Tide?
Among his many accomplishments, Nick Saban is one of two coaches to win an SEC championship at two different schools. In his 16 seasons with Alabama (+275), he has captured eight SEC titles and six national championships.
With the loss of No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young and inexperienced players all over the roster, many are doubting the Crimson Tide in 2023. But it’s important to keep in mind that the SEC Championship Game has featured either Alabama or Georgia in nine-straight seasons. It’s more than likely that the two schools will face off for the third time in the past six years.
LSU a serious contender?
LSU (+450) hosts Florida State in one of the best games of Week 1. They had a successful first year under coach Brian Kelly, finishing 10-4 in the SEC West with a 50-30 loss to Georgia in the conference title game. If they can survive the No. 8 Seminoles, the No. 5 Tigers will be on cruise control until their November 4th battle with Alabama.
In Jayden Daniels, the Tigers have a more proven QB than both the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide. They also have the makings of a dominant defense with Harold Perkins, Maason Smith and All-Pac 12 linebacker Omar Speights, who transferred from Oregon State.
