• No. 5 Washington at No. 10 Oregon State
• Saturday Nov. 18 at 7:30 PM ET
• Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon
If the Huskies want to keep their College Football Playoff dreams alive, then they’re going to have to take care of business this weekend against the Beavers. In easily the best showdown of the weekend, UW and OSU are ready to meet in Corvallis and it should be a sensational meeting. Michael Penix Jr. is ready to keep things rolling, but the OSU defense will be ready to contain him. With that said, Oregon State is favored to beat Washington in a massive Pac-12 game.
We don’t have to tell you that this is going to be an intriguing battle, as both of these squads are ranked in the Top 10. Oregon State is 8-2 on the season, while the Huskies are a perfect 10-0. Normally a lot of people would expect a 10-0 squad to post an easy win at this point of the season, but Oregon State is a deadly team when they’re playing at home. They’ll enter this contest with a ton of confidence.

“Last home game for us. Big-time opponent. I know we got a bunch of respect for what they’ve done this year. So I don’t know if we need to add in motivation from last year. Kind of where the stage is at, what we’ve got for this season, obviously what they got going, it’s a big game,” Oregon State head Jonathan Smith said of Saturday’s tilt with Washington.
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Beavers are the favorites with -110 NCAAF betting odds to come out on top. Washington, in surprising fashion, is the underdog with its +125 betting odds. The crowd at Reser Stadium is going to look to make a tremendous impact on this game from start to finish, which is why a lot of people think OSU will win. However, we’re going in a different direction.

UW is our pick to take down the Beavers on Saturday
Yes, a lot of people are high on Oregon State, but UW is our pick to take down the Beavers on Saturday. Penix is one of the best players in the country right now and we have a feeling he’s going to put on a show in this one. Also, keep in mind that Oregon State has already lost twice this year, while the Huskies and head coach Kalen DeBoer have been perfect. Smith might be feeling strong, but so are UW and its players.
Oregon State has looked sharp in recent weeks, but we can’t forget about their loss early in the season to Washington State. At the time, both teams were a perfect 3-0, but WSU was able to come out on top. Since that win, though, Wazzu has lost six consecutive games and they’re on the verge of missing out on a bowl game. Smith liked how his guys responded after that loss, but it’s still on a lot of fans’ minds.
“I think we’ve definitely tried to learn from losses and it helps us recognize how difficult it is to win in this league,” Smith said on his team’s two losses thus far this campaign. “And so each week we’re back to a process. Win, lose or draw we’re going to be back, clean some things up and focus on the next opponent. We’ve tried to do that week in and week out, and we’re going to have to do it this week.”
Oregon State is going to have to be close to perfect on Saturday if they want to keep things tight with Washington. We could see Penix throwing for around 325 yards, with 3-4 touchdowns. Look for star receiver Rome Odunze to have a great game too. With UW’s running game being so electric as well, it could be a long day for the Oregon State defense. With all of that said, we like the Huskies to leave the stadium with a 31-24 victory even if OSU has the better NCAAF betting odds to be the victor.
The over should hit between Oregon State and Washington
With these two offenses being so lethal, there’s no doubt in our mind that the over should hit between Oregon State and Washington. Whenever the Huskies are in action, they’re always operating at a high level. The same can be said for Oregon State, as they have a spectacular passing game, but their ground game is also quite impressive too. They could also make life tough for the UW defense.

With Washington, everything begins and ends with Penix. There’s a reason he’s also the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Thanks to his abilities being displayed, Penix is also considered a lock to be selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. If it weren’t for Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, he might be the first QB taken off the board. Regardless of that, Penix is going to keep balling out the rest of the season and things will include what should be a game to remember against Oregon State.
