An important AFC contest serves as the Sunday Night game in Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season. In that matchup, the AFC-North leading Baltimore Ravens head to Florida to face the top team in the AFC South, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The last time these teams met was in Week 12 of the 2022 NFL campaign. Jacksonville won that game 28-27. Here is some background on the Ravens and Jaguars before we look at the early betting odds, tips, and predictions for their Week 15 matchup.

The Baltimore Ravens (9-3) have played well in 2023, but they have been in some tight games, two of which they lost, falling to the Colts 22-19 in overtime and a 33-31 loss to the Browns. As of this writing, the Ravens are on a two-game winning streak and coming off their Week 13 bye.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4) followed a stretch of five straight wins between Week 4 and Week 8 by going 2-2 following the team’s bye in Week 9. Jacksonville lost in overtime to the Bengals in Week 13.

Baltimore Ravens betting breakdown

The Baltimore Ravens are fighting for the top spot in the AFC playoff picture, and their schedule down the stretch is a tough one. In Week 15, they face the top team in the AFC South, the Jaguars; in Week 16, their opponent is the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers; in Week 17, they face the AFC East-leading Dolphins; and they wrap the season up against divisional rival, Pittsburgh. Things could go very well for the Ravens for the rest of the 2023 NFL season or very poorly.

Baltimore has a potent offense, which is seventh in the NFL in average yards per game (366.1), and first in the league in rushing yards per game (158.6). They also rank seventh in points per game with 27.

Defensively, the Ravens are second in the NFL overall, allowing 273.9 yards per game and second in pass defense, giving up 171.7 yards per game. The Baltimore defense allows an average of 15.6 points per game, which is tops in the league.

Jacksonville Jaguars betting breakdown

As of this writing, the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t know they status of starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence left Week 13’s game, a surprising loss to a Cincinnati Bengals team that was playing with backup quarterback Jake Browning, with what we now know was a high ankle sprain. The Jaguars need a healthy Lawrence on the field if they hope to compete in a tough AFC playoff race.

If Lawrence is out, the Jaguars offense is a concern against the Ravens. Even if Lawrence plays against Baltimore, the Jaguars defense is the weak link in this game. The team is near the bottom of the league in total yards surrendered per game (354.8), and passing yards given up (261.7). The defense has done well overall, stopping the running game of their foes, but they gave up an uncharacteristic 156 rushing yards to the Bengals.

Best bets for NFL Week 15: Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Even with Trevor Lawrence playing quarterback, the Jaguars will have a tough time keeping the potent Ravens offense behind star QB Lamar Jackson from racking up points. The Jacksonville defense doesn’t have what it takes to keep the Ravens from winning this week 15 matchup. The betting pick is for the Ravens to win.
