Browns to bury Steelers in AFC North rivalry game in Week 11

  • Cleveland (6-3) is a 4-point home favorite over the Steelers (6-3) in Week 11 of the NFL season
  • Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt have a combined 21.5 sacks heading into their AFC North showdown
  • Sunday’s contest kicks off from Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH at 1:00pm ET

In his first memorable performance in a Browns uniform, Deshaun Watson led a 14-point comeback win against Baltimore on Sunday. The 28-year-old will now face a Steelers’ defense that embarrassed him in a week 2 loss.

Both clubs have a 6-3 record after Pittsburgh’s 23-19 victory over the Packers in week 10. Before we check the odds on this AFC North rivalry matchup, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.

Watson comes up big

Week 2’s defeat to the Steelers was not one to remember for the Browns. Not only did they lose Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury, they gave up two defensive TDs in a 26-22 loss. Alex Highsmith ran a Deshaun Watson interception into the endzone and T.J. Watt won the game with a scoop and score after Watson suffered his sixth sack of the night.

There have been many lows for Cleveland’s highly-paid franchise quarterback, but his season high came in Sunday’s 33-31 comeback win over Baltimore. While his final stat-line was unimpressive (213 passing yards, TD, INT), Watson completed every one of his 14 second-half pass attempts for 134 yards and a TD against the NFL’s best defense.

Steelers black magic?

Pittsburgh’s defense picked off Jordan Love twice in the final three minutes of a 23-19 victory on Sunday. Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris combined for 183 yards against the Packers, but the Steelers’ passing game struggled yet again. Kenny Pickett completed just 14 of 23 passes for 126 yards with no touchdowns nor interceptions.

Mike Tomlin’s group is the first team since 1940 to have a winning record while being outgained in each one of their first nine games. Despite being outscored by a combined 26 points this season, and putting up just 17.3 points per week (7th-worst in the NFL), they’re 6-3 and holding down a playoff spot in the competitive AFC.

Cleveland vs Pittsburgh

Cleveland is a 4-point home favorite on Sunday and the over/under is set at just 37.5 points. Jim Schwartz’s Browns defense is allowing the least yards (242.7) and sixth-fewest points per week (18.9) in the NFL. They’re limiting opponents to 151.1 passing yards per contest (No. 1) and rank top ten in rushing yards allowed (91.6) as well.

On the other side of the ball, Pittsburgh’s defense ranks bottom-ten against the pass (248.4 ypg) and against the run (131.2 ypg). However, they’ve been incredible in the red zone, holding their foes to just 20.2 points per game.

T.J. Watt vs Myles Garrett

Two of the top contenders for the Defensive Player of the Year will square off in week 11. In Sunday’s win, T.J. Watt passed his brother J.J. for the second-most sacks (88) all-time through the first 100 games of his career. The 2021 DPOY sits third in the league with 10.5 sacks – just half a sack behind the Browns’ Myles Garrett.

Watt and Garrett both have nine tackles for loss. The Steelers’ edge rusher has an interception and a fumble recovery for a touchdown while Cleveland’s sack artist has forced more fumbles (4 vs. 2).

Best Bet

Cleveland is 4-1 at home this season and coming off an emotional win over the Ravens. Jim Schwartz’s defense should be able to swallow up the Steelers’ one-dimensional offense.

Mike Tomlin’s team can never be counted out, but their luck has to come to an end sooner than later. We like the Browns to cover (-4) at home with the OVER 37.5.
