  • Jordan Love has a 3-1 record with 8 TDs and 2 INTs over the past four games
  • Sunday Night Football on NBC kicks off from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI at 8:20pm ET

Kansas City is one win behind the Ravens for the top spot in the AFC after a bounceback win against the Raiders in week 12.

KC back on track?

Patrick Mahomes passed for 298 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-17 victory over the Raiders on Sunday. Most encouragingly, KC’s receivers didn’t have any dropped passes after leading the NFL in the category through 11 weeks. Rookie pass catcher Rashee Rice was finally given a feature role, making eight receptions for 107 yards and a TD, and sophomore back Isiah Pacheco punched in two scores.

Steve Spagnuolo’s defense also stayed hot, limiting Las Vegas to just 113 yards in the second half. At 8-3, the Chiefs are in position to land the No. 1 seed in the AFC if they can stay focused on Sunday night before an epic clash with the Buffalo Bills in week 14.

Jordan Love on a roll

Jordan Love passed for 268 yards and three scores in a 29-22 upset of the Lions on Thanksgiving Day. After throwing 11 touchdowns and eight interception in the season’s first seven games, Aaron Rodgers’ replacement has 8 TDs and 2 INTs in the past four contests. Over that span, the 25-year-old’s completion percentage has also shot up to 65% from a league-low 58%.

With the Packers in striking distance of the seventh-and-final playoff spot in the NFC, Love will face his toughest test yet. Kansas City’s defense has allowed the third-fewest points per game (16.5) in the NFL, ranking No. 4 against the pass (176.6).

Green Bay vs Kansas City

Green Bay is a 6-point home underdog at Lambeau Field on Sunday night and the over/under is set at 42 points. Joe Barry’s defense isn’t at the same level of KC’s, however, they do rank top-10 in points allowed (20.4) and passing yards allowed (205.1) per week.

Patrick Mahomes ranks a lowly seventh in passing yards (2,917) this season, but his 21 TDs put him just three behind Josh Allen for the league lead. Look for Andy Reid to feed Pacheco against a Packers D that ranks 27th against the run, allowing 135.2 yards per game.

Betting trends

The Chiefs are 7-4 against the spread this year and 3-2 as a road favorite, while the Packers have a 6-5 ATS mark with a 2-1 record as a home dog. Kansas City games have also hit the UNDER in five of eight contests in 2023 (72.7%)

Best Bets

Green Bay hasn’t played since last Thursday, but Matt LaFleur’s club is just 1-3 with a rest advantage this year. While their Thanksgiving Day win over the Lions was impressive, Jordan Love and the Packers will fall back to earth against one of the NFL’s best defenses on Sunday Night Football.

We’ll take the Chiefs to cover (-6) with the OVER 42.
