Josh Allen’s Bills to upset Jalen Hurt’s Eagles on the road in week 12

  • Philadelphia (9-1) is a 3.5-point home favorite over the Bills (6-5) in Week 12 of the NFL season
  • Josh Allen passed for 275 yards and 3 TDs against the Jets in Joe Brady’s debut as offensive coordinator
  • Sunday’s contest kicks off from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA at 4:25pm ET

While it sure wasn’t pretty, the Eagles grinded out a 21-17 win over the Chiefs in Monday night’s Super Bowl rematch. Leading the NFC at 9-1, Philadelphia now hosts another AFC superpower in week 12. The Bills are coming off a 32-6 blowout of the Jets on Sunday but, at 6-5, are still very much in danger of missing the postseason.

Before we check the odds on this star-studded matchup and make our picks, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.

Philly avenges Super Bowl loss

Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped the would-be game -winning touchdown to give the Eagles a hard-fought 21-17 win over Kansas City on Monday night. While Jalen Hurts struggled mightily throughout most of the game, he punched in two scores and delivered a beautiful pass to DeVonta Smith when it mattered most.

Philadelphia’s defense shut out Patrick Mahomes in the second-half and forced two red-zone turnovers in the victory. With wins over the Dolphins, Cowboys and Chiefs over the past month, Nick Sirianni’s club has aced every test so far.

Buffalo bounces back

Sean McDermott fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey following a 24-22 loss to the Broncos last Monday. With new OC Joe Brady at the controls, Buffalo’s offense racked up 32 points in a win over the Jets. Josh Allen passed for 275 yards and three touchdowns and sophomore back James Cook racked up 102 combined yards and a score.

So, is the Bills offense truly fixed? Or did they simply take advantage of a tired Jets defense that couldn’t get off the field thanks to Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle? The answer should reveal itself in Sunday’s matchup with the Eagles.

Buffalo vs New York

Philadelphia is a 3.5-point home favorite at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday and the over/under of 48.5 is one of the highest on the week 12 slate. The Eagles’ and Bills’ offenses both rank top ten in points per game (27.3 and 26.7, respectively).

Despite a cavalcade of injuries, Sean McDermott’s defense is only allowing 17.3 points per game (No. 4 in NFL). Philly has the No. 1 defense against the run (76.5 ypg), but has been leaky at the back end, allowing the fifth-most passing yards against (248.1). Buffalo is top-10 against the pass (204.2) and league-average versus the run (110.5).

Stefon Diggs vs AJ Brown

A.J. Brown caught just one pass for eight yards on Monday night but his 1,013 receiving yards ranks No. 2 in the NFL. Stefon Diggs has only seven receptions for 61 yards and no TDs over the past two weeks. However, his 77 receptions rank No. 3 leaguewide.

With 13 combined touchdowns on the season, there’s a good chance one or both of these studs WRs bust out on Sunday following a quiet week.

Best Bet

Philadelphia has been a far better team than Buffalo this year, but Sean McDermott’s club could be catching them at the perfect time. After a gigantic road win against the Chiefs and before next week’s NFC East showdown with Dallas, the Eagles could be due for a letdown.

Meanwhile, Josh Allen’s boys are riding-high off a divisional win and still in desperation mode to make the playoffs.  We’re taking the Bills to cover (+3.5) and win outright (+145) with the OVER 48.5.
