Detroit roars back

Jared Goff overcame three interceptions to lead his Lions to a 12-point comeback win over Chicago. David Montgomery punched in the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth-quarter, running for 76 yards on the day.

The other half of “Rhythm & Bruise”, rookie Jahmyr Gibbs, added 95 combined yards and a score. It was a rough day for Detroit’s defense, which allowed 334 yards and 25 first downs to the Bears, but Aidan Hutchinson strip-sacked Justin Fields to secure the victory. His first sack since week 5.

Gotta Love it

Jordan Love passed for 322 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 23-20 win over the Chargers in week 11. Green Bay’s rookie pass catchers starred in the victory. Jayden Reed ran for a 46 yard score and caught four balls for 46 yards. And Dontayvion Wicks added three receptions for 96 yards.

Aaron Jones left the game in the second quarter with a knee injury and rookie back Emanuel Wilson dislocated his shoulder. With both likely to miss Thursday’s contest, the Packers will be forced to lean on big AJ Dillion against the Lions.

Detroit vs Green Bay

Detroit is a 7.5-point home favorite at Ford Field with the over/under set at 45.5 points. The Lions have only lost once at home all year while Green Bay is just 1-4 on the road.

Dan Campbell’s team beat up their NFC North rivals at Lambeau Field in week 4. David Montgomery ran for 121 yards and three TDs in the 34-20 win. Joe Barry’s Packers defense is allowing the fifth-most rushing yards per week (134.7), so both Monty and Gibbs should have room to operate on Thursday.

Shaky Lions D

Over the past month, Aaron Glenn’s Lions defense has given up 38 points to the Ravens, 38 to the Chargers and 26 to the Bears. That’s not ideal for a team that wants to pound the rock.

While the Packers passing offense is middling, Love and his young pass catching corps has shown improvement in recent weeks. Detroit sacked Love five times in week 4 and defensive pressure will be key once again.

Best Bet

Coming off a close call against the Bears, Detroit should be sharper on Thursday. Facing a young team on a short week, we like the Lions to cover the big spread (-7.5) versus their division rivals on Thanksgiving Day with the OVER 45.5 points.
