The Philadelphia Eagles‘ run of finding ways to win games they maybe shouldn’t have won came to an abrupt end in Week 13 when the San Francisco 49ers put a 42-19 beating on Philly. One reason the Eagles struggled against San Francisco was the team’s pass defense, which gave up 310 yards to Brock Purdy and the 49ers. Deebo Samuels had 116 of those yards. Samuels picked up that yardage on four catches. The defense held the 49ers off for the first quarter but then allowed the 49ers to score on their next six possessions. Philly brought in Shaq Leonard not long after the loss.
It’s hard to tell how Philly will react to the loss to the 49ers, but the blowout loss had to have led to some tough conversations among the team and coaches following that game. The San Francisco loss could be a turning point for the club. The thing about that is we don’t know if it will be a positive or negative.
Seattle Seahawks betting breakdown
The Seattle Seahawks have a demanding schedule. Between weeks 12 and 15, they face the San Francisco 49ers twice, the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. They lost their first game to the 49ers 31-13 and then dropped the game to Dallas 41-35. Things will not get much better for Seattle over week 14 and 15.
There was a positive in the Cowboys’ loss: quarterback Geno Smith was much faster at getting the ball out of his hands. The result of that improvement was zero sacks, 334 yards passing, and the club went 9-for-14 on third down conversions. Whatever adjustments the team and Smith made ahead of the Cowboys matchup must continue because the Seahawks’ running game can’t be counted on. They are near the bottom of the league in that category at 93.8 yards per game.

If Geno Smith can repeat his performance from the Cowboys’ game against the Eagles, the Seahawks have a chance to win this game.
