Raiders to rock the Jets on Sunday Night Football in Week 10

  • Las Vegas (4-5) is a 2-point home underdog to the Jets (4-4) in Week 10 of the NFL season
  • Zach Wilson was sacked eight times and fumbled twice in a loss to the Chargers on Monday night
  • Sunday Night Football on NBC kicks off from Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, NV at 8:20pm ET

No matter how spectacularly Zach Wilson fails, the Jets keep rolling him out as their starting quarterback. Following a 27-6 loss to the Chargers, the 24-year-old is set to make another primetime start against Las Vegas in week 10. The Raiders are riding high following the ousting of coach Josh McDaniels and subsequent victory over the Giants.

Viva Las Vegas

Raiders players were smoking victory cigars in the locker room following their 30-6 beatdown of the Giants on Sunday. Rookie Aidan O’Connell played a conservative, turnover-free game and Davante Adams was lightly-used (4 receptions, 34 yards) as Josh Jacobs rumbled for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

After Daniel Jones left the game with a knee injury, Tommy DeVito was intercepted on consecutive pass attempts. Maxx Crosby registered three sacks and is now tied for second in the NFL with 9.5 sacks. Mad Maxx will now face a Jets offensive line that allowed eight sacks on Zach Wilson on Monday night.

Zach Wilson again?

Feelings were good around the Jets following their miracle 13-10 overtime win over the Giants in week 9. But, reality quickly set in on Monday Night Football. Zach Wilson passed for 263 scoreless yards and fumbled twice in a 27-6 loss to the Chargers.

On the same week Josh Dobbs led the Vikings to a comeback win with little to no practice, New York fans were left to wonder why Robert Saleh keeps starting the QB the team selected No. 2 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Wilson will have yet another chance to disappoint against the Raiders on Sunday night.

Las Vegas vs New York

Las Vegas is a 2-point home underdog on Sunday night, and the over/under (36 points) is the lowest total on the week 10 slate. The Raiders and Jets are two of the six lowest scoring teams in the NFL, averaging 17.3 and 16.5 points, respectively. Robert Saleh has a top ten scoring defense, limiting opponents to 174.8 passing yards per week (3rd best leaguewide).

However, Gang Green has allowed the third-most rushing yards per week (137.3). With a rookie quarterback under center, interim head coach (and former running back) Antonio Pierce will be eager to pound the ball with Jacobs.

Give Breece the ball

The Jets will likely exercise a similar strategy against a Raiders defense that is top-ten in passing yards allowed (192.2) and 31st in rushing yards allowed (138.7). But there may be a fly in the ointment.

Since rushing for 177 yards against the Broncos in week 6, Breece Hall has been bottled up for 106 yards on 40 carries (2.65 ypc) in his last three outings.

Best Bet

Sure, it’s important to not to overreact to the weekly highs and lows of the NFL season, but the vibes are just too good around the Raiders heading into week 10. While the Jets are coming off yet another dispiriting loss, Antonio Pierce has created belief among all those wearing Silver & Black.

Take the Raiders to win outright (+110) on Sunday Night Football with the UNDER 36 points.
