Packers to roll over Raiders on Monday Night Football

  • Las Vegas (1-3) is a 2-point home underdog to Green Bay (2-2) in Week 5 of the NFL season
  • Davante Adams reached 10,000 career receiving yards during the Raiders’ loss to the Chargers in week 4
  • Monday Night Football on ESPN kicks off from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV at 8:15 pm ET

Davante Adams will face his former team for the first time on Monday Night Football. The All-Pro receiver spent eight seasons in Green Bay before being traded to the Raiders prior to the 2022 season.

Las Vegas has dropped three straight following a 24-17 loss to the Chargers on Sunday, while the Packers are coming off a 34-20 home defeat to Detroit. Before we check the odds on this week 5 contest, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.

Jimmy Garoppolo’s return

Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to return after missing week 4 with a concussion. The dreamy 31-year-old has thrown six interceptions in just three games this season. Luckily, his rookie replacement didn’t fare much better in Sunday’s 24-17 loss to the Chargers. Aidan O’Connell fumbled the ball away twice in his first career start and tossed a game-ending interception deep in LA territory with just seconds remaining.

Davante Adams has 397 yards and three scores through four contests. While he’s dealing with a shoulder ailment, he’ll be a full go in a matchup against Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander, who will be making his return from a back injury.

Packers manhandled by Lions

Green Bay’s run defense under coordinator Joe Barry is terrible yet again. The Packers have allowed 200-plus rushing yards in two of their last three games. In their 34-20 loss to the Lions on Thursday, David Montgomery racked up 121 yards and three touchdowns.

After holding out most of training camp, Josh Jacobs is averaging only 2.7 yards per rush on 62 attempts this year. However, he looked slightly better against the Bolts in week 4, piling up 139 combined yards and a score.

Las Vegas vs Green Bay

Green Bay is a 2-point road favorite and the over/under is set at 44.5 points. The Raiders lost their only home game of the 2023 season to the Steelers, and were 4-4 in Allegiant Stadium last year. Meanwhile, the Packers destroyed the Bears in the Windy City in week 1 before suffering a one-point loss in Atlanta the next weekend.

Jordan Love’s up and down start

Green Bay’s banged-up offensive line couldn’t protect Jordan Love in their lopsided loss to the Lions, allowing four sacks, five tackles for loss and six quarterback hits in the first half. Love was an ugly 6-of-13 for 50 yards and an interception at the break before rallying in the second half.

While Aaron Rodgers’ replacement has a rock-bottom 56.1 completion percentage through four games, he has hit some big throws when protected. The Raiders have the eighth-worst team sack rate (5.38%), but Maxx Crosby will be a problem with David Bakhtiari out for the season. In addition to having four sacks, Mad Maxx has the most pressures (27) in the NFL.

Best Bet

The Raiders have played stiffer competition to this point in the season, but it’s simply impossible to take Josh McDaniels (18-31 career record) over Matt LaFleur (49-21) on what amounts to a neutral field in Las Vegas.

We’ll take Green Bay to cover with the OVER 44.5 points.
