When taking a look at this showdown, there’s no question in our mind that the over should hit between the Dodgers and Astros on Sunday. We don’t have to tell you how stacked both of these lineups are. However, we must also remember that there’s quite the pitching matchup on the way here. Starting with the Dodgers, they’re known for their depth with the starting rotation – it’s an impressive group.
For this meeting, Tony Gonsolin will get the start. On the year, Gonsolin holds a 4-2 record and a 2.92 ERA. That’s great to see from Gonsolin, as he has turned heads in a great way in the NL West. Gonsolin has been special, but we can’t forget about how strong the Houston lineup is. While Yordan Alvarez is out for a little while due to injury, Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve and others will be ready to perform at a high level.

On the other side of things, the Astros will send out Hunter Brown to pitch. The righty is 6-4 on the season, sporting a 3.78 ERA. Both these pitchers are known for sitting guys down, but as we have mentioned already, these teams have a ton of power in their lineups. This could prove to be a big-time problem for both Gonsolin and Brown. Because of this, we really do think this could be a high-scoring affair.
Per the oddsmakers, the over/under has been at 6.5 runs. So, these two sides only need to hit seven runs to cover the over? It would be a surprise if this doesn’t happen. Not only will plenty of runs be scored, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see plenty of home runs smashed as well. In what could prove to be a preview of the World Series, we think the over will hit here. We’re going with at least seven runs as our pick.

With the All-Star Break right around the corner, both the Astros and Dodgers have a World Series title on their minds. The Astros are considered the top team in the American League, as Houston was able to win it all last season. The Astros saw Justin Verlander leave this past offseason for the New York Mets, but there’s no question that they still have what it takes to win it all once again. Their strong World Series betting odds have fans dreaming of them going back-to-back.
As for Los Angeles, they just won it all in 2020, and now they’re hoping to get the job done for the second time in four years. LA is considered the top squad in the National League, but they’re also trying to hold off the Atlanta Braves as well. People are dreaming of a Houston-LA World Series.
