Denny Hamlin favorite to win 2024 NASCAR All-Star Race

Denny Hamlin leads the betting to win the 2024 NASCAR All-Star Race from North Wilkesboro Speedway this Sunday. Hamlin is the favorite at +500. But he will be up against the heavily fancied William Byron (+600), and we also can’t rule out Kyle Larson (+875), who won this race on this same circuit 12 months ago. In our latest NASCAR betting picks, we tell you the best bets to place to profit on the 2024 All-Star Race.

The Big Picture

The regular NASCAR season takes a break this weekend, with the 2024 All-Star Race taking center stage.

The All-Star race doesn’t see drivers awarded any points. Instead, there is a cool $1 million prize for the winner, along with the prestige that comes with winning an All-Star Race.

The exhibition event takes on a completely different look from what NASCAR fans are used to seeing on the weekly roster.

There will only be a 20-car lineup on the starting grid. The field is made up of 17 qualifiers of race winners from this and last season. Two more drivers will qualify through Friday’s All-Star Open. And the final spot will go to the winner of a fan vote.

The in-form drivers on the roster for this race are Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, and Denny Hamlin,

Keselowski won last Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington. He followed Kyle Larson, who won the previous weekend at Kansas, and Denny Hamlin, who won in Dover the week before.

Added to his win at the Wurth 400, Hamlin was fifth at the AdventHealth 400 and fourth at Darlington on Sunday.

As for Kyle Larson, he was second in the Wurth 400 and won the AdventHealth 400. He registered a disappointing 34th at Darlington last Sunday.

Betting to win the 2024 All-Star Race

Despite having a win on this circuit 12 months ago, the best NASCAR betting sites have overlooked Kyle Larson as their favorite to win the race this year.

The best sportsbooks have instead gone for Denny Hamlin at +500. Hamlin sits just ahead of second favorite William Byron at +600.

Christopher Bell is next at +750. Bell is followed by Kyle Larson at +875 and Joey Logana at +950. Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, and Martin Truex Jr. are all +1000. Last Sunday’s winner Brad Keselowski, along with Tyler Reddick are both on +1200.

Betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship

Before we get onto our picks to win the All-Star Race, we’re first going to take a look at the betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series.

Ahead of Darlington, Kyle Larson was the outright favorite to win the Cup Series at +400, with Denny Hamlin second at +500. After last Sunday’s result, Larson is still +400 to win his second Cup Series in 2024. But Hamlin has seen his odds slashed from +500 to +425.

William Byron is next at +500. The Hendrick’s driver is at the same odds as he was last week.

Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell are both at +900. But Martin Truex Jr. has seen his odds crash from +900 to +1200 following his 25th-place finish on Sunday. Keeping Truex Jr. company at +1200 are Ryan Blaney and Tyler Reddick.

Following his excellent win last weekend, Brad Keselowski is now +1600 to win the Cup Series.

2024 All-Star Race Betting Picks and Predictions

Right, back to the 2024 All-Star Race, and our first betting pick to win the exhibition is Kyle Larson.

Larson was the winner here in 2023. He held off the challenges of Bubba Wallace (2nd) and Tyler Reddick (3rd) to win his third All-Star Race in five seasons. He also led for 145 laps of the 200-lap race at North Wilkesboro.

Considering he won here last year and three of the previous five All-Star Race events, we were very surprised to see the current Cup Series points leader down at +875.

Okay, he had a stinker at Darlington last Sunday. But prior to that, he had been in excellent form. Our Kyle Larson selection is straight from the we’ll be kicking ourselves if he wins and we haven’t backed him envelope.

Kyle Larson to win the 2024 All-Star Race is our first All-Star Race betting pick.

Second, we are going for Tyler Reddick. Why, we hear you ask. Finishes of 32 at Darlington and 20 at Kansas are hardly inspiring stuff. But he did finish 11th at the Wurth 400 and won at Talladega the race before.

We feel that this track may suit his driving style, and the smaller field will also help. Reddick is +1200 to win the race and +350 to finish in the top three. We are backing him to stand anywhere on the podium for our second pick.
