Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin locked in as joint-favorites to win the Enjoy Illinois 300

After the weather wrecked the weekend’s action from Charlotte, NASCAR fans will be hoping for a return to normality when the Cup Series rocks up at the Gateway for the 2024 Enjoy Illinois 300. Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin are the joint favorites (+600) to win the race, and in our latest NASCAR betting picks, we tell you who is worth putting your money on.

  • What: Enjoy Illinois 300
  • Where: World Wide Technology Raceway, Madison, Illinois
  • When: Sunday, June 2nd, 2024
  • Time: 3.30 pm ET
  • Laps: 240
  • Distance: 300 Miles

The Big Picture

Formally known as Gateway Motorsports Park, the World Wide Technology Raceway is the venue for the Illinois 300. The track is a 1.25-mile asphalt oval circuit with banking of 11% (turns 1 and 2) and 9% (turns 3 and 4) on its four turns.

The 2024 edition will be only the fourth running of the race. The winner here in 2023 was Kyle Busch, and in 2022, Joey Logano. Both will be looking for another win to kick start their so-far stuttering 2024 seasons.

One man not struggling for form is Christopher Bell. In a weather-shortened Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte last Sunday, Bell was declared the winner after 240 of the 600 laps.

The win was Bell’s second of the season, and it could be a momentum changer after a difficult run that has seen him finishing outside of the top ten in five of his last six races.

Kyle Larson will also be determined to get back on the podium after missing last weekend’s race in Charlotte. Larson was attempting the Indy 500/Coca-Cola 600 double. But with the weather also affecting events in Indianapolis, Larson was held up and missed out at Charlotte altogether.

A frustrated and angry Larson could be a huge threat to the rest of the field this weekend in Madison.

Betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series

Before we name our betting picks to win at the Gateway track, let’s first look at the latest betting to win the 2024 Cup Series.

William Byron was the favorite for a long period of this season. But in recent weeks Byron has been replaced at the top of the betting by teammate Kyle Larson. After a string of impressive results, Kyle Larson is the +450 betting favorite to win the Cup Series title for the second time in his career.

Following Larson in the betting are William Byron and Denny Hamlim at +500. The top betting sites seem to see it as a three-horse race between the trio.

Christopher Bell is next in the betting at +800, with Chase Elliott at +900. The trio of Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, and Martin Truex Jr. are all at +1200. Two-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano is +1600 to repeat his wins from 2018 and 2022.

2024 Enjoy Illinois 300 Betting Picks and Predictions

The betting is open for this weekend’s race, with the two favorites both priced up at +600. The longer odds offer us the opportunity to hedge our bets and name more than one winner pick.

William Byron +1000

To start with, we are going with William Byron. The No.24 Chevrolet driver has a decent record on intermediate tracks and we think that makes him a good call to finish on the podium this weekend.

Back Byron to finish in the top three if you wish. But at odds of +1000 to win the race, we are making him our pick to stand on the top of the podium.

William Byron to win the Enjoy Illinois 300 is our first betting pick.

Kyle Larson +600

Second up, we have to go with the hungry Kyle Larson. The 2021 Cup Series champion looks back to his ruthless best again this season. His attempt to double up at the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 showed intent, and he wouldn’t have tried it had he not believed he had a chance of completing both races.

Knowing what Larson is like, he probably believed he could win both races, never mind just complete them.

When Larson is in the mood, he is a threat to win any race. He also has a decent record on intermediate tracks of this size, so we can’t ignore his chances this weekend.

Kyle Larson to win the Enjoy Illinois 300 is our second betting pick.
