Kyle Larson favored for win at Dover in Würth 400

The NASCAR Cup Series returns to Dover this weekend for the Würth 400. Kyle Larson leads the betting at +450. And as the leader of the points table, Larson would love to assert his authority with another race win. Can he do it? We give you the answer in our latest NASCAR betting picks.

  • What: Würth 400
  • Where: Dover Motor Speedway, Dover, Delaware
  • When: Sunday, April 28th, 2024
  • Time: 2 pm ET
  • Laps: 400
  • Distance: 400 Miles

Also known as the Monster Mile, the Würth 400 is held on the intermediate oval at the Dover Motor Speedway circuit. The Würth 400 is a race that suits the Hendricks Motorsports team. They have won this event 12 times, the most by any team. Furthermore, Chevrolet is the most successful manufacturer in this race with 22 wins.

Sunday looks all set up for another Hendricks Motorsports victory.

Who are the in-form NASCAR drivers?

We expected to see a Ford driver standing at the top of the podium in Talladega last Sunday. Instead, the best the manufacturer could manage was a second-place finish courtesy of Brad Keselowski.

The winning driver at the GEICO 500 was Tyler Reddick in his Toyota. He held off Keselowski and third-placed Noah Gragson to win his first race of the season, and as a result, Reddick has lept up three places to fifth in the latest drivers’ standings.

The in-form William Byron kept his excellent run going with a seventh-place finish. Byron also moved up the points table, but only by one position. Moving ahead of Denny Hamlin, Byron is now fourth on 335 points, 24 behind points leader Kyle Larson. Larson could only manage a 21st-place finish in Alabama last Sunday.

Betting to win the 2024 Würth 400

After the open betting market at Talladega last weekend, we see a return to a short-priced favorite at Dover this Sunday.
Kyle Larson is the favorite to win the race at +400. The Hendricks’ racer has pretty much been favored for every race on an intermediate track since his 2021 Cup Series win.

Second in the betting is Martin Truex Jr. at +600. Truex Jr. has won here three times previously, including last year’s race. The JGR driver is just ahead of William Byron, Ross Chastain, and Denny Hamlin, who all sit on +750.

Further down the betting, Christopher Bell is next at +1000. Bell is closely followed by Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney at +1200. Ty Gibbs is at +1400, Alex Bowman at +1600, and Tyler Reddick at +1800. 2022 Cup Series champion Joey Logano is down at +2200.

Betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship

Before we name our Würth 400 betting picks, let’s take a look at the latest betting to win the Cup Series.

BetUS has a three-way tie in the futures betting to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series. Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Denny Hamlin are all +500 to win the title in 2024.

The market hasn’t changed much after Talladega. Christopher Bell is still fourth in the betting, although he is +700 with BetUS, as opposed to the +600 available with BetOnline.

Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr are both still at +900, with Ryan Blaney still out at +1200 following last Sunday’s disappointing 20th-place finish.

2024 Würth 400 Betting Picks and Predictions

We’re well aware that this circuit suits both the Hendricks team and Chevrolet cars. So with this in mind, our pick to win the race is Chase Elliott.

The 2020 Cup Series champion has been in good form in recent weeks. He may be disappointed with his 15th-place finish at Talladega last Sunday. But that came after a win at Texas and a third-place finish at Martinsville.

Elliott has also been creeping up the drivers’ standing in recent weeks and now sits third on 337 points.

He will be looking to add to his one win this season, and at odds of +1200, we think Chase Elliott is a good value-betting pick.

For our second betting pick, we are sticking with Hendricks’ drivers, but this time, William Byron.

Byron is 7-3-1 in his last three races. He has three wins this season and also has finished in the top five on four occasions. Byron has been the perfect example of consistency in 2024.

He is +240 to finish in the top three, and we like the look of those odds.

Finally, Brad Keselowski has finished second in his last two races. He does sit down in 14th position in the points table. But in recent weeks, he has been gradually improving.

We say Keselowski will keep his excellent run of form up, and we are backing him to finish in the top five at +325 for our third and final Würth 400 betting pick.
