Kyle Larson

The driver of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 Chevy Camaro, Kyle Larson, has been one of the best NASCAR Cup Series drivers this year. The 31-year-old, who followed his 2021 championship-winning performance with a seventh-place finish in 2022, won four races in 2023, including two victories during the playoff stage of the season. No driver other than Larson led more than 1,000 laps during the season (1,127). Larson’s strong racing in 2023 saw him pick up 14 top-five finishes and 17 inside the top 10. He was one of three drivers with eight stage wins this year, along with William Bryon and Denny Hamlin.

In his last seven starts at Phoenix, Larson has not started outside the seven. He has picked up one win and four top-five finishes in those races.

Christopher Bell

Christopher Bell has been behind the wheel of the  No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing during the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. The 28-year-old has been a part of the series since 2020. He had the best run of his young career in 2022 when he finished in third place. Bell looks to improve on that finish in 2023. Of the four drivers who remain in the playoffs, Bell has the fewest wins this year with two. However, he comes into the final race of the year with a win at Homestead, a runner-up finish in Las Vegas and after placing seventh at Martinsville. Bell has 10 top-five finishes this year and 19 finishes inside the top-10.

Bell has never finished inside the top five at Phoenix. In seven starts on the track, his best finish came this spring when he placed sixth. He does have three other top-10 finishes on the course.
