Denny Hamlin
Denny Hamlin entered the Bristol race 12 points off the NASCAR playoff lead. He racked up those points by leading the Cook Out Southern 500 for 177 laps before finishing in 25th place and placing second at the Hollywood Casino 400. Hamlin is now in third place in the playoffs after winning in Bristol, and although he has dropped in the standings, he’s only four points behind the men tied for the points lead, William Byron and Martin Truex Jr.
In 31 starts at Texas, Hamlin, who drives the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, has three wins in 31 starts, and his average finish is 13th place. He finished in 10th place in 2022 at the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500. His most recent victory at Texas came in the spring 2021 race.
Kyle Larson
Currently No. 4 in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff point’s race, Kyle Larson has 3,023 points, which puts him 13 points away from the lead. The driver of the No. 5 Chevy for Hendrick Motorsports, Larson performed well in the first three NASCAR Cup Series Playoff races, winning the first and finishing fourth in the second. Larson finished second at Bristol, which is impressive since he started the race in the last position.
Larson is performing well this year, with more top-five finishes than any other driver, with 13. He has won three races in 2023. Larson won in Texas in 2021 and placed ninth last year. If there’s a driver who’s a betting pick to finish in the top five, it’s Larson.
Tyler Reddick
The winner of last year’s AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500, Tyler Reddick, has performed well in Texas, placing second in his first NASCAR Cup Series start on the track in 2020 and then finishing in 15th, and ninth before his win. He also won the Xfinity Series race on the track in May 2022.
Reddick drives the No. 45 Toyota for 23XI Racing. He is in eighth place in playoff points. Reddick has two wins this year, nine top-five finishes, and 13 finishes inside the top 10. As for playoff finishes, Reddick was runner-up at Darlington, the winner at Kansas City and 15th in Bristol.
