Denny Hamlin

Denny Hamlin entered the Bristol race 12 points off the NASCAR playoff lead. He racked up those points by leading the Cook Out Southern 500 for 177 laps before finishing in 25th place and placing second at the Hollywood Casino 400. Hamlin is now in third place in the playoffs after winning in Bristol, and although he has dropped in the standings, he’s only four points behind the men tied for the points lead, William Byron and Martin Truex Jr.

In 31 starts at Texas, Hamlin, who drives the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, has three wins in 31 starts, and his average finish is 13th place. He finished in 10th place in 2022 at the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500. His most recent victory at Texas came in the spring 2021 race.

Currently No. 4 in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff point’s race, Kyle Larson has 3,023 points, which puts him 13 points away from the lead.
