- Dallas is a 9.5-point home favorite over New York in Week 2 of the NFL season
- Zach Wilson will start at quarterback for the Jets after Aaron Rodgers’ year-ending injury
- Sunday’s game kicks off from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX at 4:25 pm ET
Following an offseason of Hard Knocks hype and breathless anticipation for his Jets debut, Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon just four snaps into Monday’s season opener against the Bills. New York rallied to defeat their AFC East rivals 22-16 in overtime, but life without their Hall of Fame quarterback is about to get tougher.
Zach Wilson will be thrown to the wolves against a Dallas defense that racked up seven sacks and two interceptions in a 40-0 blowout of the Giants. Before we examine the odds for Sunday’s game, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.

Zach Wilson returns
While the Jets are apparently casting a wide net in their search for Aaron Rodgers’ replacement, Zach Wilson will be under center on Sunday. The renowned Milf-hunter completed 14 of 21 passes for 140 yards, a touchdown and an interception in a 22-16 win over Buffalo.
New York’s victory can be credited to a defense that made three interceptions and recovered a Josh Allen fumble late in the contest. Breece Hall also provided a spark in the running game, ripping off runs of 26 and 83 yards in his return from a knee injury. And Garrett Wilson made a spectacular one-handed touchdown catch in the 4th quarter.

Dallas dominates
Dallas’ defense forced three turnovers and sacked Daniel Jones seven times in a 40-0 bloodbath on Sunday night. After the game, star linebacker Micah Parsons said, “I think we made the statement which I’ve been trying to make: We’re the best defense in the National Football League.”
While the Cowboys didn’t have to do much on offense, Tony Pollard looked electric in his return from injury, piling up 82 yards and two touchdowns on 16 touches. Dak Prescott completed just 13 passes for 143 yards with no TDs nor picks. Mike McCarthy may choose to play conservative again on Sunday to protect his QB from the Jets’ deep rotation of pass rushers.
Cowboys vs Jets
Dallas is a 9.5-point home favorite in their home opener. McCarthy’s club was 8-1 in Jerry World last season. And now instead of having to face their old nemesis Aaron Rodgers, they’ll get to feast on third-year starter Zach Wilson, who has a career 55.6% completion percentage with 16 TDs and 19 INTs.
Pray for the 24-year-old Mormon on Sunday. The Cowboys generated pressure on 23 of 36 dropbacks (63.9%) against Daniel Jones – that’s tied for the second-highest pressure rate in a game since 2019.

Best Bet
Normally, we’d favor New York’s defense to keep this one close. But, the Jets’ offense will likely stick Quinnen Williams and company with poor field position all night.
We like the Cowboys to cover the 9.5 points with the UNDER 39.5.
