- WHAT: Olympic Mixed Doubles Curling
- WHEN: Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 – Tuesday, February 10th, 2026
- WHERE: Cortina Olympic Stadium, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
Mixed doubles curling made its Olympic debut at Pyeongchang in 2018, and the event returns for its third Olympic appearance at Milano Cortina 2026. Competition runs from February 4-10 at the Cortina Olympic Stadium, featuring 10 nations in a round-robin format, with the top four advancing to the medal round.
Defending champions Italy, led by Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner, headline the field after their historic 2022 gold medal, the country’s first Olympic curling medal. Canada, the 2018 inaugural gold medalists with Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris, will be represented by Brett Gallant and Jocelyn Peterman. Other medal contenders include 2022 bronze medalists Sweden and silver medalists Norway, along with Great Britain and Switzerland.
The United States will feature Korey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse, who became the first Americans to win a world championship in mixed doubles in 2023. Estonia will make its Olympic debut in the event, while Czechia and South Korea round out the field after securing spots at December’s qualification event.
With shorter games and faster-paced action than traditional curling, mixed doubles promises exciting competition as nations battle for Olympic glory on Italian ice.

Italy
The Italian pair enters as prohibitive favorites, having never lost in international competition together. After their perfect 11-0 run at Beijing 2022, Constantini and Mosaner repeated the feat at the 2025 World Championships, again finishing 11-0 to claim Italy’s first world mixed doubles medal. The home advantage could prove decisive. Constantini is from Cortina d’Ampezzo, the very town hosting the mixed doubles event.
The Italian curling team’s selection of 19-year-old Rebecca Mariani brought a furious response from the omitted Angela Romei, who was in the squad for years. https://t.co/7g7I4uEwhy

She and Mosaner will draw huge crowds as they attempt to defend their title on home ice. However, Italy isn’t without it’s own controversy regarding who was selected for the team.
Their dominance, combined with the emotional boost of competing in front of Italian fans, makes them the team to beat. However, mixed doubles curling remains unpredictable, and strong challengers from Canada, Great Britain, and Scandinavia ensure nothing is guaranteed.
Italy is favored for a reason, but at +150 odds, I have to pass on them for some better value.
Great Britain
Great Britain will feature childhood friends Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds, who finished fourth at Beijing 2022 after entering as world champions. The pair reached the 2025 World Championship final before losing to Italy 9-4, demonstrating they remain among the sport’s elite. Mouat enjoyed a remarkable 2025, winning his second World Men’s Championship gold and becoming the first skip to claim four Grand Slam titles in a single season.

The duo’s chemistry, built from knowing each other since the ages of 10 and 7, could prove crucial in high-pressure situations. Both will compete in multiple events, as Mouat skips Team GB’s men’s squad while Dodds plays third for Team Morrison in the women’s tournament. Their experience and recent form make them serious medal contenders, though they’ll need to overcome the disappointment of their collapse in the Beijing bronze medal match.
Great Britain at +350 is a fantastic value and a wager I’d recommend.
USA
Team USA’s Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin will be the first American athletes to compete at Milano Cortina 2026, as mixed doubles begins two days before the Opening Ceremony. The Duluth, Minnesota duo captured America’s first world championship in mixed doubles in 2023, establishing themselves as legitimate contenders.
Both endured heartbreak at previous Olympic Trials. Thiesse finished runner-up twice in mixed doubles and women’s team events, while Dropkin lost in the men’s championship series in both 2018 and 2022. USA Curling CEO Dean Gemmell expressed excitement about their medal chances, praising their resilience under pressure.

However, their recent international results have been mixed, including a fifth-place finish at the 2025 World Championships. Thiesse will also compete in the women’s team event, making her the busiest U.S. athlete at the Games.
While they face stiff competition from Italy’s perfect record, their world championship pedigree and hunger after years of near misses could fuel a historic Olympic run. Previous U.S. mixed doubles teams finished sixth in 2018 and eighth in 2022, making a medal breakthrough long overdue.
A medal would be great, but the team will definitely be in the mix for the gold medal, so I’d definitely wager on the US at +550 odds.
Canada
Canada sends married couple Brett Gallant and Jocelyn Peterman, who will compete together at their second Olympics after both participated in separate team events at Beijing 2022. Gallant won bronze with Team Gushue in the men’s tournament, while Peterman finished fifth with Team Jones in the women’s event.
The pair won Canada’s mixed doubles trials undefeated and captured a silver medal at the 2019 world championships. Gallant will make history as the first Canadian curler to compete in two disciplines at the same Winter Games, also joining Team Jacobs in the men’s event.

What's ahead in preparation for Brett Gallant and Jocelyn Peterman as they look to bring mixed doubles curling gold home for Canada from the 2026 Games in Italy?@CanadianOlympic https://t.co/VOot6wd26v— Todd Saelhof (@ToddSaelhofPM) January 20, 2026
Canada won its only mixed doubles Olympic medal when John Morris and Kaitlyn Lawes took gold in 2018, making the pressure on Peterman and Gallant to return the nation to the podium significant.
It doesn’t appear that Canada is on the same level as the aforementioned countries, and for that reason I would pass on them at +650 odds.
