Luke Humphries started the new darts season as the No.1 ranked player in the world and the new World Champion. While Luke Littler started the new season as the hottest property in the world of darts.
The duo was a threat to MVG, who, in fairness, was still regarded as the best player in the world when he was on song. He just hadn’t shown it for a while, and the darts world was waiting and wondering how, or if, the Dutchman would respond.
It’s fair to say we now have our answer. MVG has responded like a true champion. Already in 2024, he has won the Dutch Darts Masters, and he followed that up with wins on Nights 2 and 3 of the Premier League.

Betting to win Night 4 of the Darts Premier League
The top US sportsbooks have noted that MVG is facing a tough quarter-final match (vs. Gerwyn Price) as he is not the favorite to win the night. In normal circumstances, after back-to-back night wins, it would be a certainty that MVG would lead the betting. But instead, it’s Luke Littler at +250.
Littler hasn’t had things all his own way recently. And to see him favorite to win the night is surprising. The 17-year-old will also face the winner of MVG and Price in his semi-final, assuming he first gets past Peter Wright.
MVG and Luke Humphries are joint-second favorites at +350, with Gerwyn Price next at +600. Following the top four in the betting is Rob Cross at +800, with Michael Smith at +900, Nathan Aspinall at +1100, and Peter Wright at +4000. Wright is having another Premier League season to forget.

The quarter-final lineup for Night 4 is already locked in. The opening match sees Michael Smith facing Nathan Aspinall. The winner of that match will face the winner of Rob Cross vs. Luke Humphries. In the bottom half, Peter Wright faces Luke Littler this week. The winner faces either MVG or Gerwyn Price in the last four.

For our first Night 4 betting pick, we are looking at the opening match between Michael Smith and Nathan Aspinall.
Smith is -130 to win on the money line and is +125 to win on the handicap line at -1.5 legs. Aspinall has been in awful form recently and has been finding the Premier League hard work. He has been knocked out in the opening round every week. And not once has he won more than four legs.
For our betting pick, we are going for Michael Smith (-1.5 legs) to beat Nathan Aspinall and cover.
Next, we are looking at the match between Luke Humphries and Rob Cross.
As you will discover later, we expect Humphries will win this match. But on the props lines, we noticed that Rob Cross is -125 to average over 95.5. So far in this Premier League, Cross has averaged 94.8, 95.2, and 97.16 in his three defeats. In his biggest loss of the three, he averaged 97.16 in his 6-2 defeat to Gerwyn Price.
We see Cross losing to Humprhies with a high average. Possibly, not getting many darts at a double. Alternatively, if Cross performs well and forces a shock win, he may need to average over 100.

Finally, our betting pick to win Premier League Darts Night 4. We are going for the new world No.1 and world Champion, Luke Humphries.
Last week in Glasgow, Humphries got to the final, where he lost a close match 6-5 to Michael van Gerwen.
Humphries was the best player on the night, averaging over 100 in all three matches (including 101.37 in the final). The Englishman looked back to somewhere near his best and should have beaten van Gerwen.
