In our latest darts betting picks, we look ahead to the competition and tell you the best bets.

Red Hot Luke Littler in stunning form in Bahrain

What an unbelievable event the Bahrain Darts Masters was. Luke Littler won, beating Michael van Gerwen 8-5 in the final. And the worrying thing for the rest of the PDC Tour players is that he won it with plenty to spare.

So often, MVG underperforms and lets his opponent off the hook. Not this time, as Luke Littler was sensational. And the facts are that he could have won more comfortably than he eventually did. Oh, and just for good measure, Littler also hit a nine-darter in the opening leg of his quarter-final against Nathan Aspinall. It was simply ridiculous stuff.

Stronger lineup in the Netherlands

The Dutch Darts Masters is the second event on the 2024 PDC World Series of Darts circuit, the first being last week’s competition in Bahrain.

Like last week in Bahrain, the eight players chosen to play in the 2024 Premier League are taking part in the Netherlands. But unlike last week (when they took on eight players from the Asian Tour), this week, the PDC stars will be taking on eight Benelux representatives, who will present a far tougher challenge than the Asian Tour players did.

World No.7 Danny Noppert leads a star-studded field of Benelux representatives, which also includes the five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld and the 2022 Dutch Darts Masters champion (the last time the event was held), Dimitri Van den Bergh. The full lineup is below.

Eight PDC Representatives

  • Luke Humphries (England)
  • Michael van Gerwen (Netherlands)
  • Michael Smith (England)
  • Nathan Aspinall (England)
  • Gerwyn Price (Wales)
  • Rob Cross (England)
  • Peter Wright (Scotland)
  • Luke Littler (England)

Eight Benelux Representatives

  • Danny Noppert (Netherlands)
  • Dirk van Duijvenbode (Netherlands)
  • Dimitri Van den Bergh (Belgium)
  • Raymond van Barneveld (Netherlands)
  • Jermaine Wattimena (Netherlands)
  • Gian van Veen (Netherlands)
  • Vincent van der Voort (Netherlands)
  • Kevin Doets (Netherlands)

Betting to win the 2024 Dutch Darts Masters

Luke Humphries went into the Bahrain Darts Masters as the +200 betting favorite with the top US sportsbooks. This week, Humphries is the favorite, but at the longer odds of +350. Second in the betting is last week’s winner, Luke Littler, at +375.

Behind the two Lukes are MVG at +400, Gerwyn Price at +650, Michael Smith at +900, and Rob Cross at +1000. Completing the rest of the Premier League contingent is Nathan Aspinal at +2000 and Peter Wright at +2500.

But as this is a far stronger field than last week’s event in Bahrain, Peter Wright isn’t even in the top eight in the betting. Also at odds of +2000 is Danny Noppert, the World No.7. Dirk van Duijvenbode, Dimitri van den Bergh, and Gian van Veen are all +3300, with Raymond van Barneveld at +5000.

2024 Dutch Darts Masters Betting Picks

After a simply ridiculous performance from Luke Littler last week in Bahrain, dare we not choose him as our betting pick to win again this week in the Netherlands?

The youngster has grown another year older. Littler turned 17 on January 21st. But he plays more like an experienced pro, not a wet behind-the-ears kid.

The PDC is too strong for Littler to dominate (we think). And with the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, and Michael Smith in the mix, Littler will likely have to share titles with some of his more experienced fellow professionals.

We have to pick him to win this week though. How can we not? So our first pick to win the 2024 Dutch Darts Masters is Luke Littler at +375.

Is Luke Humphries set to bounce back with a win?

We are hedging our bets this week. If Littler wins and we haven’t backed him, we’re kicking ourselves. But it’s important not to get carried away and start believing he wins every tournament he enters. That isn’t going to happen, and that is why we are naming a second pick.

It’s hard to pick an in-form player out from last week. MVG reached the final, but even he struggled to defeat an out-of-sorts Michael Smith in the semi-final. Elsewhere, Luke Humphries lost to Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals. The Iceman averaged 90.48 and somehow managed to defeat Humphries, who averaged 95.39. Price was then thrashed 7-3 by Littler in the last four.

So there is no obvious candidate. But one thing we do know is that Luke Humphries was the best player in the world at the end of last year. He was too short to be backed at +200 last week. But at +350 this week, Luke Humphries is our second pick to win the 2024 Dutch Darts Masters.
