MotoGP is back. The 2023 MotoGP season took off the month of July, but the racers are back in action on Sunday for the 2023 edition of the Monster Energy British Grand Prix. The Silverstone Circuit is one the fastest and most exciting tracks on the MotoGP schedule. MotoGP riders have been competing on the track since 1977. Last year, Francesco Bagnaia picked up the win on the course. It was the first victory for the Ducati rider on the course. Bagnaia went on to win the MotoGP championship in 2022 with 265 points. The winner of four races in 2023, the 26-year-old is currently in first place in the MotoGP standings this season.
Bagnaia looks to join the lengthy list of multiple-time winners of the British Grand Prix in 2023. The man with the most wins in this race is the retired Valentino Rossi. Rossi won the British GP a record eight times during his legendary career. Three other riders have won the race six times.
The Silverstone Circuit is a 5.9-kilometer track with the longest straightaway checking in at 770 meters. There are 10 right corners and 8 lefts on the course.

Francesco Bagnaia caught fire around this time, winning the 2022 Dutch TT and following that with three more victories, including a win at the 2022 British Grand Prix. In the last 10 races of the 2022 MotoGP season, the Italian rider had five wins, one runner-up, and two third-place finishes.
The 26-year-old picked up in 2023 where he left off in 2022. In eight races this year, Bagnaia has four victories and one runner-up finish. If last year is any indication, Bagnaia will dominate the second half of the 2023 MotoGP season. Like in 2022, he has wins in Italy and at the Dutch TT.
The 25-year-old Jorge Martin has been fantastic in 2023 competition. Riding for Pramac Racing, Martin has been very consistent this year. The Spanish rider started the current season by not finishing two of the first three races of 2023, but since then, he has been tuned into his Ducati, finishing in the top five in five straight races, including picking up his first win of the year with a victory in Germany.
The 2021 MotoGP “Rookie of the Year” is currently in second place in the points race with 159, which puts him one point ahead of the third place Marco Bezzecchi.
Martin has participated twice in the British Grand Prix. In 2021 he did not finish the race, but he managed to pick up a fifth-place finish last year. With how consistent he has been this year, Martin is a threat to pick up a win in any race he participates in.
The winner of the 2023 French GP, Marco Bezzecchi, started 2023 as the second-best MotoGP competitor. However, the 24-year-old has slipped to third in the points standings following an eighth-place finish in Italy and a fourth in Germany. He picked up some ground at the Dutch TT with a second-place finish. On Sunday, the Mooney VR46 Racing rider looks to gain more ground with a strong British GP performance. Bezzecchi participated in this race last year, but he could have had a better performance, finishing in 10th.
Bezzecchi has one retirement in 2023 and two wins. His worst finish outside of his one retirement was his eighth place in Italy.
