The Pittsburgh Penguins look to eliminate the New York Rangers and slumping “Vezina-elect” Igor Shesterkin while both the Panthers/Capitals and Flames/Stars series matchups are tied 2-2 heading into Game 5.

Let’s check the odds for all of Wednesday’s National Hockey League postseason action. Here’s also where you can find the top betting sites for NHL hockey in 2022 and smart wagering tips in our 2022 Stanley Cup betting guide.

Rangers vs. Penguins

After making 78 saves in a triple-OT loss in Game 1, Igor Shesterkin has now been pulled from two straight starts after allowing 10 goals on 48 shots. His ugly .792 save percentage is a far cry from the .935 mark the Russian netminder put up during the regular season to become a clear frontrunner for the Vezina Trophy.

Heading home in a 3-1 series deficit, Rangers coach Gerard Gallant said Shesterkin would get the start on Wednesday night. He’ll certainly need more help from his teammates, who permitted 12 high-danger scoring chances in the second period of Game 4 alone.

Just one victory away from clinching their first playoff series since their 2017 Stanley Cup triumph, don’t expect Sidney Crosby and the Penguins to take their foot off the gas in Madison Square Garden.

Final score prediction: Penguins 4, Rangers 2

Panthers vs. Capitals

Florida was just two minutes and four seconds away from being an enormous 3-1 series hole to the Capitals before Sam Reinhart capitalized on a lucky bounce to tie the game 2-2. Carter Verhaeghe then scored in overtime to give the President Trophy-winning Panthers another comeback victory (they had a league-leading 24 in the regular season).

If the NHL Department of Player Safety chooses to suspend T.J. Oshie for his controversial hit to the head of Sam Bennett, the Capitals could be in trouble as they’re already missing tough guy Tom Wilson. Either way, Andrew Brunette’s club looks to have all the momentum after stealing Game 4.

Final score prediction: Panthers 5, Capitals 3

Flames vs. Stars

After managing just three goals combined through the first three games of the series, Calgary peppered Jake Oettinger with 53 shots on Monday night. Hart Trophy candidate Johnny Gaudreau scored a silky penalty-shot goal in the 4-1 victory, and Jacob Markstrom made 34 saves to win the goaltending duel.

How pivotal is tonight’s game? When a best-of-seven series is tied 2-2, the winner of Game 5 holds an all-time series record of 219-58 (.791). The Flames were 25-9-7 at home in the regular season while Dallas was under .500 on the road (19-20-2) – but the Stars already stole Game 2 in the Saddledome. Expect another low-scoring, grind-it-out affair.

Final score prediction: Flames 2, Stars 1
