Connor McDavid is taking over the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 23 points (six goals, 17 assists) through 10 games – the most since Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux were dominating hockey’s post-season back in the 1980s and 90s.
With nine points in the opening three games of the Western Conference semifinal, the 25-year-old has helped his Oilers to a 2-1 series lead over Calgary. Let’s check the odds for Tuesday night’s Battle of Alberta as well as Game 4 between New York and Carolina. Rangers vs. Hurricanes
The regular-season version of Igor Sheterkin showed up on Sunday, making 43 stops in a 3-1 victory over the Hurricanes in Game 3. Now 0-4 on the road in the playoffs, Carolina must find a way to beat the Russian netminder in Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
While New York came back from a 3-1 series deficit against the Penguins in round one, the mission would be much more difficult against a Hurricanes squad that’s a perfect 6-0 in Raleigh this postseason. Therefore, look for the Blueshirts to bring their strongest effort of the series in Game 4.

With Shesterkin back in Vezina form, we like the Rangers’ -108 moneyline and think they can even cover the -1.5 goal spread at +225. This series goes back South tied at 2-2.
Final score prediction: Rangers 4, Hurricanes 2
Oilers vs. Flames
Can the Flames find an answer for Edmonton’s high-powered first line of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evander Kane? Since being formed before Game 2, the trifecta has outscored Darryl Sutter’s club by a 9-4 margin.
Kane’s natural hat trick in Sunday’s 4-1 victory put the Oilers up 2-1 in the Battle of Alberta. His 10 goals lead all players this postseason, while his linemates McDavid (23) and Draisaitl (19) sit 1-2 in the points race. The trio has now combined for 55 points through 10 playoff games.

To avoid falling victim to the generational talents of McDavid and Draisiatl, Calgary is going to need much better goaltending out of Jacob Markstrom. The 32-year-old Swede has a 5.74 goals-against average, and a .853 save percentage through three games. That’s compared to a 3.45 GAA and .916 SV% from Mike Smith. Milan Lucic took a run at Edmonton’s 40-year-old netminder at the end of Game 3, adding extra sizzle to Tuesday’s pivotal matchup between the provincial rivals.
While everything looks dark for the Flames at the moment, they were the better club throughout the season. Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk will rally the troops for a big road win, sending the Battle of Alberta back to Cowtown tied at 2-2. Take the Calgary money line (+102) and OVER 6.5 goals (-101).
Final score prediction: Flames 5, Oilers 3
