Maple Leafs vs Coyotes
After leading Toronto to a 6-3 victory over the Kraken with his third hat trick of the season on Tuesday, Auston Matthews should have more opportunities to add to his NHL-leading goal total (43) against the Coyotes. While they’re one of the worst teams in hockey, Phoenix notched 17 goals in consecutive wins over the Senators and Red Wings. And the Maple Leafs’ goaltending struggles are well documented. Expect a high-scoring affair.
Final score prediction: Leafs 6, Coyotes 3

Hurricanes vs Avalanche
The top teams in the Eastern and Western Conference will square off in Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday. Colorado has struggled of late with three losses in their last four games, while the Hurricanes are 7-1-2 in their last 10. Within striking distance of the President’s Trophy, Carolina is a remarkable 21-4-2 on home ice. However, they could be without starting netminder Frederik Anderson, who is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.
Final score prediction: Hurricanes 3, Colorado 2
Bruins vs Blackhawks
The Bruins coughed up a sure victory over Los Angeles on Monday, allowing the Kings to tie the game with 26 seconds left in regulation before losing in overtime. Boston is still one of the hottest clubs in the NHL since January and rookie Jeremy Swayman will be back between the pipes versus Chicago. While it was nice to see Patrick Kane register a career-high six points in a 8-3 triumph over Anaheim on Tuesday, the Blackhawks are just 10-14-4 on the road and far out of the playoff picture.
Final score prediction: Bruins 4, Chicago 1

Flames vs Lightning
Another contest featuring two of the league’s top squads – and both should be motivated coming off defeats. The Flames’ 5-4 home loss to the Capitals on Tuesday can be excused as they secured an emotional 3-1 Battle of Alberta win over the Oilers the previous night, while Tampa Bay was spanked 7-4 in Winnipeg. Calgary is 16-5-5 on home ice and Tampa is 18-8-2 on the road, and both clubs have seven victories in their past 10 games. Look for the goaltending of Andrei Vasilevskiy to be the difference in an OT thriller.
Final score prediction: Lightning 3, Flames 2 OT
