NHL Odds – St. Louis Blues vs Vancouver Canucks

The St. Louis Blues want to pick up things where they left them as they visit the Vancouver Canucks, this Wednesday at 10:30 PM ET at Rogers Arena, in an interesting Western Conference matchup.

blues_canucksSt. Louis leads the Central Division in the Western Conference with 84 points after 57 games played.  “We’re excited to get back with the team and make this push and be playing strong going into the playoffs,” forward David Backes said.

“One championship, one more to go,” Alex Pietrangelo, who won the Gold Medal with Canada in the Winter Olympics said. “Back to reality. Our goal is to win here in St. Louis.”

The Blues average 3.32 goals per game, against the 2.30 the Canucks have every night; they have scored 45 Power Play goals in the first half of the season, 18 more than Vancouver.

The Canucks are a talented team, but coach John Tortorella just doesn’t get the right track for them to excel.

Vancouver is 5th in the Pacific division standings, 24 points behind the leader Anaheim Ducks.

“We’ve dug ourselves a pretty big hole here, but we need to look at it as a challenge,” said coach John Tortorella, whose team has been outscored 26-11 in the previous seven.

“We’re not dead and gone. We’ve allowed a lot of teams to get back in and pass us as far the playoffs are concerned. But we still have enough games to crawl back in.”

Keep in mind the last four games in the series between these two teams ended UNDER the goals total.
