How to Watch: Showtime
Bellator is in St. Louis for Saturday’s event, Bellator 276. Two important contests headline the event, which Showtime broadcasts.
In the main event, Adam Borics and Mads Burnell, who share the No. 2 ranking in the official Bellator featherweight rankings face off. The winner of the bout could find themselves in a title fight against the victor of the upcoming rematch between 145-pound champion A.J. McKee and former champ Patricio “Pitbull” Freire. McKee and Freire meet at Bellator 277.
In the co-main event, former Bellator light heavyweight champion Phil Davis looks to capitalize on his September win over Yoel Romero when he meets Julius Anglickas. Anglickas saw his nine-fight winning streak end in October when he lost to Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov. Davis is the No. 2 ranked fighter in the official Bellator light heavyweight rankings while Anglickas checks in at No. 4.

Borics vs. Burnell prediction and pick
Adam Borics has been with Bellator since 2017. During that time he has put together a record of 8-1. His only loss was a submission setback to former Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell. Borics is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jeremy Kennedy in April 2021. He is on a three-fight winning streak.
Mads Burnell is a former UFC fighter and Cage Warriors featherweight champion. He joined Bellator in 2020 and is a perfect 3-0 with one submission, one TKO and one decision victory. His most recent outing was a July decision victory over former Bellator featherweight title challenger Emmanuel Sanchez.
Borics is a good all-around fighter, but he is not much of a finisher as of late. He has gone the distance in his past three outings. Borics’ lack of recent finishes won’t serve him well against someone like Burnell, who has racked up nine submission wins over his career. Most of Burnell’s submission wins have come via a variety of different chokes. Burnell has the skill advantage in this contest and that should serve him well.
Pick: Mads Burnell to beat Adam Borics

Davis vs. Anglickas prediction and pick
Phil Davis has three losses during his Bellator career. His first promotional defeat was in 2017 when he lost the light heavyweight championship to Ryan Bader. His next two setbacks came against Vadim Nemkov. Davis’ first loss to Nemkov came in 2018 and that was two fights before Nemkov took the 205-pound crown from Bader. The second loss to Nemkov came in a 2021 title fight. All three of those setbacks were via decision. Davis is 10-3 in Bellator.
Julius Anglickas joined Bellator in 2019. He is 3-1 with the promotion and coming off a submission loss to Nemkov in a 2021 title fight.
Davis is one of the most skilled and efficient fighters in Bellator’s light heavyweight division. He might not be the most exciting fighter in the promotion, but he rarely makes mistakes. Davis is much more experienced than Anglickas and that experience, along with his high-level wrestling background, he was an NCAA Champion with Penn State, should be enough to lead him to victory. I expect Davis to use his superior skills to sap the energy from Anglickas and take the win in this matchup.
Pick: Phil Davis to beat Julius Anglickas.
